Opinions on Skype & kik

Yarm

I had neither of these before I joined Fab however I have since downloaded both after a few no shows and other issues I experienced and find them both a great way of communicating with potential meets, I don't use these for sex talk or pics but find you get a great understanding of if you click ie conversation flows well and you've all seen each other (agreed not the same as in the flesh) .... Why are so many against these apps ?

because most people are after sex chat and wank fodder.

i used to use them a lot before fab and still got them, for keeping in touch with people mostly, but if anyone off here asks if i have these apps i say i don't.

I have both but rarely use them.

Camming is just for verification if people need to.

Kik, I never use any more.

The problem with these options, and Kik more so, is that they are an intrusion into my life. I like the fact I can log in to Fab but also shut the browser and take a break. When I used Kik, my phone seemed to never shut up and it got to the point where I would silence it and then not get other important messages such as texts.

We personally like kik as Henry works away during the week so we can group chat easier. I also crave attention so if Henry is busy at work it gives me something to do but he can see what is going on x

On local updates or 'fakes R Us' it seems like every other one has kik statuses. That puts us off even though there will be legit users too. We'd stick to fab messaging tbh.

I totally get the point regarding being able to just log off fab and log back on kik can be a bit none stop but I still enjoy the conversations I have on there, Skype for me is great although I genuinely hardly use it verifying who I'm talking to and having a conversation with them is a massive tick, group chat on kik with a couple must be good I totally get that point to ... We are all different and my thoughts are a lot of people will use them as wank fodder but some use it in a genuine way

This is exactly the reason I don't have it. I like to be in control of when I interact with people. I have my phone on me 24/7 and I dont like to feel that one part of my life would intrude into others.

Kik tends to ne for photo collectors. Why skype when you can go in the chatrooms here. You can still put your cam on and private chat if you wish as well as have conversations in the chatrooms. Plus more poeple are likely to see your profile in the chatrooms as no one does on skype. Create awareness of yourself on chat.

i had a kik group for just chatting, it was alright, got the occasional person coming in thinking they should post pics or ask female members for them but it wasn't for that really and i quite enjoyed the groups overall.

skype groups were a lot of fun when i used them too. wouldn't mind getting into them more if there were less sexual and more for socialising.

I used to have kik after there was such a deman for users to have kik.. but then soon realised in my experience these were "dreamers". Only work of numbers now

Could people get your personal info if you share your Skype with them? I'm thinking could it be used to perhaps hack into your machine. I just don't understand why so many people are insistent on using Skype.

kind of yes. i could easily find your IP that way as you are communicating to me with that address and my computer knows this information.

sending pics/music/any file for you to download can be a way i actually get into your computer remotely.

Both whatsapp and kik are ideal for group chats and kik in particular is great as you don't have to give out your phone number.

I like the new kik features like video chat and the photo feature that tells you it's just been taken using the camera. Great for verification.

We only communicate through the message system on this site and we have a separate mobile number to give out for meets.

We've never bothered with Skype, kik etc.. and not into camming.
