Don't you love it when you send a nice thoughtful message to someone, appear to tick all their boxes, send face photos and all that jazz, which they then read, delete and block you?

I love that I do. Love it.

I'm glad to know some people do, because that's mainly the way I deal with my inbox. Although blocking might be going a bit too far.

You might think you tick all their boxes. You obviously didn't.

'Appear' being the important word.

Your message may be the most wonderful message ever sent, however if someone doesn't fancy you, nothing is going to make them reply, and rather then ping pong messages it's easier to delete , block and move on.

Read FAQ. You need to accept it as a no thank you.

Saying that, if I can tell a man has put a lot of efffort into a message and made it personal to me, then I do try to reply, but sometimes they get lost in all the other messages I receive.

They can't have thought you ticked all their boxes

Or they didn't like your face pic

Or they know you

Many reasons for it but don't let it put you off making the effort as it's appreciated by others. Personally even if it was a no I'd reply and say that if someone took the approach you did.

I do appreciate that its frustrating. We sometimes get right to the point of arranging to meet someone and they just stop replying or even arrange a time and place but they fail to confirm. We accept that its all par for the course, it's a funny old world.

Oh, I see, I've blocked people in the past to save them accidentally messaging me again. Some chaps send out literally dozens of messages and understandably forget they've already approached me (often with an identically worded message), simple solution is to prevent them from doing so with a block.

I've had it happen to me but I just move past it. I don't take it personally as they don't know me and I don't know them. I've approached them because I feel I've met their criteria but sometime you just know someone isn't for you. I'm selective on my messages as I don't feel the scattergun approach is what I use fab for. I prefer to take my time with people.

If you get it and agree, how can you see it as being lumped in with anyone - it's just a move designed to prevent further messages being sent, regardless of how nice or nasty the sender may be.

Problem is, if a single lady replies with a 'no thanks' and then get's a vicious foul mouthed answer back a few times, then in future, they will tend to delete and block people who don't appeal.

Block sounds harsh as it can be the place for nasty people to go. It can also just be a simple admin tool.

Don't read too much into it. Also remember the site is swelling in size, including less articulate people than you.

Sad, but the way of the world sometimes.

Have fun.

It's not unfriendly to delete messages. It's not unfriendly to block. And neither of those are peculiar to Fab anyway, as I have been on other sites and used the features to make my experience go more smoothly.

You sound like you've been here for a while and are aware of the various features and the way they are used, so unless you were after some sympathy I really don't know why you are so surprised.

By the way, you are allowed to ask for sympathy, and you have received some so result, I guess. Don't let an internet site make you bitter.
