For me its a long weekend away in Cornwall. Never been there before and can't wait to get exploring the Lizard Peninsula.. I've a week to go and this week will be spent researching things to do, making sure i have a rough idea of the area in my head and making sure my flat is spotless before i leave. I've never been away to a completely new location before on my own let alone with an 18month old :D

What are you looking forward too?

Next weekend we have so much to fit into 3 days, partly swinging and then a couple of day long music events with friends where we just laze around on the grass eating and drinking all day long, catching up with each other and enjoying the bands

Its become a yearly date and we all look forward to it

Simple but really lovely

travelling up to West Midlands a week today. We are staying overnight with Kates sister, then we are flying to Turkey on Saturday morning. Should arrive at our hotel and be in a bar by early afternoon.

We're going to chill for a week

In looking forward to my holiday on a greek island at the end of July. I haven't had a beach holiday in 3 years as I love cities but it will be nice to relax.

As for doing things on my own, I had never been away on my own before and realised that if I wanted to go somewhere but others in the family didn't want to, then why should I miss out. So I booked a holiday to New York City and went by myself. For a girl who didn't know how to even check into a hotel by herself I did ok. I've been a few times since too.

Flambards and Poldark Mine are in Helston. Landsend is 20miles ish away. There isn't anything at The Lizard other than a car park, a lighthouse and a couple of pubs.

The Minack Theatre is a must see place though. You can google it and research a little about it.

It really depends what you want to do. There are plenty of walks but they may not be ideal if you have a baby in a pushchair

Oh Jack!!! I am dissapointed... You never mentioned the Polpeor Cafe, right on the tip of the Lazard! Best little cafe in Cornwall...

Sassy.. Presume you in a car as you on the Lizard? Get yerself down to the Lizard Peninsular and take a look. If you want the cafe... Drive through Lizard Villiage and carry on towards the Point. Road is narrow with passing places and has a car park (National Trust) on the left. If you feel real brave, carry on to the Point and park there... Gets busy, but that puts you right outside the cafe.

Sit on the patio overlooking the sea if it's not raining and get yer pastie and chips and pot of tea. Excellent.

Also on the way back out of the villiage, look for signs on the left for Kynance Cove (again NT) Parking was £1.50 and the cove is a bit of a trek, but it is popular and you will see why on a good day and the tide is out. BUT difficult with a baby!

Know of gardens worth seeing, like the Lost Gardens Of Heligan. (It's ok, they found em!!) and Trengwainton Gardens. Both fantastic and easy to negotiate. Tons of stuff down there and we are officionados (Family in Penzance and vist regular!)

Let us know what sort of stuff you like

xxxx

I gotr there at 5 last time and it was in full flow. It takes a while to find people but the smoking deck is where a lot of the forum users congregate. The bar is fun though there was a man getting his nose pulled which was really funny

It is raining where I am camping at the mo, and the dog has given up on the idea of walking as he hates the rain.
