Life On The Mississippi

It seems that before he became a journalist and writer, Mark Twain was a Mississippi steam boat pilot.

So, this book is his memoir of piloting steam boats across America, and through the Mississippi, possibly the biggest, wildest river on earth.

It's a great, great read. Twain is like Dickens, humane warm, civilised and a pleasure to spend company with.

Mr here. I'm reading 14th Murder by James Patterson.

Book berfore was Silencer by Andy Mcnab.

Also like to books by Jack Higgins, Michael Connelly and a few other authors.

Having watched apple tree yard, I'm on the book now. Goes against my rules as I always try to read the book first.

Last read before that, the last Peter James book. Like lee child, Linwood Barclay, Stephen Booth and stuff like that.

I try to read the book first, but if I'm struggling with it, then the film/ drama can help. I often then go back to the book

That sounds interesting. I will add to my list. I recently finished We Chose To Speak Of War And Strife by John Simpson. I've just started The United States of Paranoia by Jesse Walker.

Not exactly a bundle of laughs but very interesting none the same. Non fiction btw.
