Dream jobs

I love my job, it's not for everyone but I'm proud of myself and my personal achievements. However as I sit down after another long day which has included (yet again), early starts and late finishes, I find myself pondering what my dream job would be.

Trawler fishing is something that I'm amazed by. However by dream job is to be a postman.

What's yours?

I'm really good at it but I don't want to do it anymore. I want a job where I can wear a skirt and top.

Not self-employed. And you can be an expert while still learning.

Maybe it depends on the job. I'm considered an expert in my field, but will happily acknowledge that the realisation of how much I don't know terrifies me somewhat.

In that case, that would suggest that 'expert' is a term being used loosely. Especially with advances in science, technology and the economy etc. That's why learning is the best thing about life.

I've just qualified in a new field, have already got 2 previous degrees/ professions as well. I can honestly say this job makes me incredibly happy, but am always looking for more study/ brain stimulation

So, currently in dream job but I get bored easily and who knows where I will be in 2-3 years

I'm not sure I can make enough to live on from tossing though

But you can't be an expert unless you continue learning, so no, the term isn't being applied loosely in this sense at all.

This is me, I had a job which lasted 24 years and turned into a dream job, it was not what I originally wanted to do when I first started. Sadly that job had to end and I bumped around for a few years but have now started a new job which has the makings of becoming a dream job.

Ultimately I work to live and so long as I enjoy going into the office I will be happy these days.

I like my job, it is fun to unload lorries, we can get up to 40 pallets of food, then we brake it down to cages for the night shift, my dream would be working from home as a web designer. I already know html and javascript

No one will ever be an expert then as everyone learns something new every day

I disagree, one doesn't have to know everything to be an expert in a certain field.

Fair enough. Reading up on it now. Doesn't look like I can be an expert in my field. Just have to keep learning and grinding.

And whinging about it.

I had my dream job ..I was a roofer ,something so right about being on roof and letting the world go by ..lunch on the roof ,that's real lunch on the roof (until you forget the brew) ...can the dream evolve afterwards ?...if you want it to ,some people's dream job is a total contrast to what they actually do ..I actually wanted be a fireman but can't do children in pain or worse ...if your in your dream job I truly hope the reality is better than you dreamed

Spot on. Contrasting. That's what's so interesting. There's also a difference between dream and ideal.

That's ridiculous.

There are experts in all feilds they dont suddenly lose thier expert knowledge just because there are advances.

They will often be the ones implementing those advances

But a good one is "an expert is somone who knows more and more about less and less"
