So is anyone as excited for Cheltenham festival as me? Had no clue just how big it is when I first arrived in Cheltenham!

I love the atmosphere and might be going. It's always fun in town afterwards too.

The atmosphere is incredible, even just around Cheltenham itself let alone up at the race course. Might bump into you then! town is fun after indeed

Trouble with gold cup week is that it's not for people interested in racing anymore, it's taken over by the once a year t wearing wannabe socialites who spend more time posting pictures on Facebook than watching the racing.

Living nearby

Pissed up cockwombles pissing (and even shitting) in the garden and on the doorstep, puking on the street.... nah I'm not a fan.

Trying to walk into town is impossible let alone walking back home.

Transport chaos, and trains fucked for work.

I hate the whole shit show

I'd agree to this to a certain extent, but there is still an awful lot of people interested in the racing

Yes I agree with the puking/urinating etc down to alcohol isn't good. Walking into town, how would that be affected? Yes transport does become stupid

Love it. Only get the chance to go racing a couple of times a year.

Have a bet every week and Cheltenham is the cup final of jump racing.

Was lucky enough to go once.

Long may it continue.

PM's welcome for Any tips.

Having worked there I'd estimate 35-45% of the people there aren't interested in the racing where as the trails meet and the hunters chase meeting would only be a out 10-15%

It's certainly worth going too! Accommodation around the area at the time becomes difficult to find and when found expensive mind

Too many chavs lording it up once a year, just because they've bought a jacket. They still can't behave like a gent/lady, or handle their drink.

I'm particularly affected by the traffic.

The hoards of d*unks walking into town makes the trip horrible, dangerous and lengthy. Coming home against the tide is impossible

Sorry, we spent a good many years working at Cheltenham Festival, and hated it, far too many horses put to sleep for our liking

Just of interest sw. How many is far to many. ? ( not having a go at you)

National hunt owners see their horses as pets in many many instances and are distraught when any harm comes to them . The horses clearly enjoy what they do or they would refuse.

To national hunt people 1 death is to many.

In 2006 eight horses lost their lives. I am not condemning the sport, I'm just saying that I hated watching the tents go up, it seemed a shame, and I do agree with you that horses wouldn't jump unless they wanted to.
