If you was a type of fruit, what fruit would you be?

I had this question in an interview once, I just got up and walked out. I mean, what kind of question is that to someone who want's to work in the IT industry?

What kind of fruit would I be? I don't know, a peach so I could carry on my tradition of spilling my juices all over the keyboard and making the keys stick. Idiot

Has anyone else ever had a stupid or irrelevant question asked during an interview?

Those are just meant to test how you think on your feet. A bit like the 'if you were a pencil, what type of pencil would you be?' and 'why are manhole covers round?'

I had a graduate interview with Nationwide and they asked all the same questions that were on the application form. Just wanted another example for each thing. So lazy

I dunno. Probably one which looks extremely tasty but as you bite into it, it's s little tart. Like a gooseberry.

Just where I need to be.

A pineapple. I can be quite sharp at times but on a good day sweet and juicy.

We ask interviewees for five ways to tell if a box contains a cat. They have about 60 seconds (or until they just peter out). This dumb thing answers two of our most important questions... one, can they think on their toes and two, are they going to fit our business.

As to fruit, I want to say tomato simply because most people don't think of it as a fruit.
