There and to the left a bit

Are we talking in an observational capacity only? i.e. Without the ability to change anything? If so then to watch D-Day unfold through the eyes of my Grandad (who was in gliders and one of the first in) would be mine - a great moment in history but with a personal twist.

If it came with the ability to alter history, and this is the subject of much debate - coming across Hitler (or for that matter any other evil dictator) at any moment in time before he came to power so the appropriate action could be taken to stop him before he'd started (although there is an argument that says someone worse could then come to the fore).

I think Stonehenge would be a lot of effort. The wheel wasn't even invented and essentially they were rocks taken from Wales and they couldn't transport them further...

There are theories as to how they got them there. Don't forget these were people who had an organised society that allowed for labour intensive projects like that which involved thousands of man hours. One theory is that the rocks were transported on a roller like system.

Quite often flawed or incomplete evidence which has been interpreted by the researcher.

.

Some of them weigh 80 tonnes, to quarry an 80 tonne piece of sandstone with copper tools and drag it 40 miles by hand 4000 years ago is some achievement, especially considering you would have spent nearly all your time just doing stuff to live.

Somebody went to an awful lot of effort to make sure that monument would last thousands of years, you could have made it much easier out of wood so to choose stone is a message to future generations

Many henges were wooden. People were much more sophisticated and able than the are commonly given credit for, in fact some people find it easier to believe that aliens built Stonehenge than humans not that different to us.
