Will bringing swinging into main stream media help to break the stigma?

I'm watching Jeremy Kyle again (yes I watch shit TV) and a swinging couple's been on again, and they were happy and relaxed, and said that their relationship works because they're entirely open and honest about their meets and dates, and it strikes me how different those stories are to the normal cheating lie director stuff, and it was discussed in a positive light.

Will coverage like that in the media, where it isn't treated as a sleazy crude subject, like it is in The Sun, help a swinging life style become more acceptable?

I don't think it'll ever become mainstream acceptable. There will always be minority groups or individuals who will lambast the choices we make, or try to make what goes on to be seedy and unsavoury.

I think it will take some attitude shifts. Most people still think of 1 partner forsaking others as 'the norm' and moving that mindset might take decades.

The traditional view of 'faithfulness' still sits as the 'true' one but seeing people who are happy with their choices and not torn apart by jealousy will help.

i doubt fucking people will ever become not sleazy.

sort of know what you mean though, that maybe promoting non-monogamy won't be seen as too weird.

at one time women weren't allowed to seek sex outside of marriage but are now, single parents were seen as disgusting, but this attitude had changed a lot so it'll happen for sex too. maybe for the better or worse, like you say depends how they choose to show it.

when i was younger there were always political sex scandals as well, you never hear of that now.

Can I still block my neighbour if I don't like his views on mmf? Would that be impolite as he always passes me his newspaper when he's finished.
