Kent

Woke up this morning and decided a full on sort out and spring clean was in order..

7.30am dragged all the junk out of a huge walk in cupboard in my hallway.

8.15am abandoned said junk and went to work.

4pm got home and faced mammoth task ahead of me..

This is gonna get worse before it gets better

Where does all the stuff come from???

Beginning to wish I'd never started

The curse of the clutter. We did one room at the start of the month, took a whole evening of graft.

I'm doing the same thing at the moment with books. My house is like a library after an earthquake at the moment. And I keep remembering other places I've stashed them and having to carry piles up and down the stairs.

Open a bottle of wine while you sort it out. It will make it seem less daunting

My little boys room is like that! Books on shelves everywhere. I keep rearranging them but I'm running out of room

Ive abandoned it for now. As long as it gets finished over the weekend so I can get shot of it all at the dump Sunday afternoon and get painting Monday I'll be happy

I had a massive clear out of two cupboards in my bedroom back in January.. I filled 10 bin bags

it took me a whole weekend but it was well worth it...

now all I need is the willpower not to fill them back up with any more shite

I cleared out my wardrobe last week. I say cleared out, I took it all out and put it back in a different order! I couldn't help that feeling of maybe i'll wear it one day!

Its mad how much "stuff" we amass over time!

Shove it in that lovely empty cupboard in your hallway.

We started in the loft and are working our way down. One bedroom is chock full of miscellaneous crap. We've skipped one load already and another is due to go soon.

My books went a long time ago; I just have a few I'm currently reading or am going to read.

My downstairs second lounge is half done, with one filing cabinet left to go through.

It's hard work but you feel so much better when it's done.

"Help!!!!

Focus on a small amount at a time, not the whole lot. Pick away at it, item by item.

Made good progress today... Glossed 2 more door frames and did the first coat on one side of my living room.

My living room is really long (lounge/diner) so painting one was takes an age and makes my arm feel like it's gonna drop off!

Will do the opposite wall tomorrow

London

Retired in November with big plans to declutter the house and get decoraters in and do the garden. Just finished on Friday.

They're coming to clear the garden tomorrow. Hopefully the neighbours will stop giving me the evils as my garden does look like Steptoes yard!
