"...what was your favourite childhood book? And do you still read it? Mine was The Hobbit. And yes, I still read the same copy. Its' pages are brown and musty. The spine is well-worn. I love it!" I also loved The Hobbit - still do! I feel aggrieved that neither of my children have ever shown any interest in reading it despite my recommendation. But I was also pretty obsessed with The Little House on the Prairie series of books. I've got a box set, though not my originals, that I've read again a few times as an adult.

"The very first book I bought from the Puffin Book Club, with my own saved pennies was Flat Stanley. Pride and Prejudice was and is my favourite book as a child and I still read the same copy. The Wizard of Earthsea led me into fantasy and kept me busy for 40 years. " I love Pride and Prejudice. I've had the same copy for years x

"First book I really got into was "The Silver Sword" by Ian Serraileur. Classic wartime story, still vivid in my mind despite reading it for first time on 1965, just those few years ago. Reading this A few years ago I ordered a copy for my young son " Wow! Well done, everytime I mention the book, blank looks! Mind you, the traditional's such as The Famous Five can be discounted!

"I loved The Famous Five...I rather envied George." Another one here for The Famous Five. I don't really remember reading much else. In fact, the only real memories I have of reading children's books is to my own kids and one of my favourites was My Naughty Little Sister.
