I used to do Airfix kits when I was a kid. Motorbikes mainly, and my dad bought me The Endeavour, but put a lot of it together himself.

I was hoping to start a collection of trucks and vintage cars but I soon learned I needed an allocated space with good lighting, level work bench and good ventilation to build them and keep everyone in the house happy.

There and to the left a bit

Used to love building Airfix (and other) models as a kid and have often said if I had the time and space that I'd love to do it again. Can remember there being something very satisfying in losing yourself in the little bits of plastic and slowly and methodically putting them together and painting them until you had the finished item.

Wouldn't worry about it putting anyone off OP, we all have our hobbies - that said it's probably also not something that needs mentioning in a profile or opening message

I still build model aircraft today. Although with big clumsy fingers and crap eyesight, I only work in 1/32 scale. They're large enough to pick out individual details. I've also managed to sell a few as commission builds for pilots, their personal aircraft that they fly at work.

"Any news on this sky remote?"

What scale do you need it to be? I'll get to work on one for you.

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

I`m into model railways and whilst I don`t make any engines, I do the occasional wagon that`s not available on the ready to use range, I do make up buildings from kits. I mainly do Metcalfe Models, using Roket card glue. The glue is expensive but really economical to use and quick to set so it works out cheaper in the long run. I like fitting my buildings out with lighting and I have a café with a top floor which has been taken over by "ladies of the night" complete with a red light!!! I was amazed at the range of "naughty people" you can get from the Noch range of figures!
