That's why I love it, it can be interpreted so many different ways! My fave theory is the mind control one, at the end it's not a defeat of Jareth (the Bowie character) but a victory having totally programmed Sarah's inner world. It makes sense when you watch it with that in mind!

As a kiddie it was just a bit of a fairytale romp. Oh and I used to go all funny inside over Jennifer Connelly too

I wanted to look like her when i grew up.. i still do!

Noooo she definitely beat him and changed herself in the process, its more like a woman escaping a mentally abusive relationship, quite empowering actually.

Is it bad I know every word to the film and I mean EVERy word.. people hate watching it with me as i talk along with it

I always viewed it as him being her creation. He was her fantasy come to life, someone who adored her when her parents were preoccupied with the baby and she wasn't getting the attention she wanted. Her defeating and rejecting him was symbolic of her casting aside childish fantasy and accepting the real world and a more adult role in her family. That's my interpretation anyway.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I have never seen this film. And i've wanted to for AGES. Alas, I currently do not have a DVD player and i'm not going to watch it on my mobile or Ipad because it doesn't feel like you are doing a film justice and are just not watching it properly.

So sort it TV bods.

One of my favourite fantasy flicks Willow is never on TV these days.

Queen Bavmorda was a pretty cool villain and the outfit she was wearing made her look like a cross between Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty and the evil queen from Snow White.
