Anyone see the the programe about woman getting sexually harassed more on Britain's streets be it cat calls being honked at or groped in public...the latter is obviously not exeptable but how do the fems on here feel about getting wolf whisted ect..compliment or degrading??

It is not a turn on and not a compliment. I am not a dog and therefore whistling at me in the street is unnecessary and rude.

If I ever got groped or harassed in public I would go mad

Now I would find it a compliment. However it used to happen when I was a school girl in my uniform. I didnt like it at all and found it disgusting and also very intimidating. I wrote a letter of complaint and they stopped. I also got a personal letter from the main culprit.

Is that the programme where an attractive lady walked around for 4 hours and they recorded what she had to put up with?

If so i was very suprised.

There was a man taking photos of her legs (quite blatantly) when she was at a crossing. She confronted him, asked him to show/delete the pic and he refused.

Also mentioned the sexual harrassment/groping that happens on public transport to men and women.

Was an eye opener.

I don't find wolf whistling a compliment. It's never done by a man on his own, it's always a man/men in a group. It's not about me and someone finding me attractive, it's display behaviour for the benefit of the other men 'look how big my balls are' etc.

A compliment would be someone walking up to me and engaging in conversation.

I dont find wolf whistles offensive in the slightest. I think its probably their way of complimenting you. Some women absolutely hate it. Im far too old to be wolf whistled at now, although I was really shy in my twenties and although I would get embarrassed I would secretly enjoy the attention I suppose.

I do wonder if in the future guys wont be allowed to compliment a woman? Open a door for a lady.. or get mistaken for touching up a woman when he accidently brushed past her in a lift, or on tube/bus?

That said .. if a woman doesnt like this attention, she should politely say so.

As for groping or taking photos of womens bum or under their skirt .. this clearly isnt acceptable and should be reported to the police.

I hate being whistled at. I hate being shouted at. I hate being groped. Last time that happened was only a few months ago in a busy public place in central London on a Saturday lunchtime. I was so shocked I didn't respond. And berated myself afterwards for not doing so. What utter cunt imposes his d*unken wanker behaviour on someone totally unwilling? And what innocent bystanders watch it happen and do fuck all? The first is a slippery slope to the latter in my book and it has always annoyed me. Plus, as other posters have pointed out, it happened far too often when I was obviously much, much younger. And it was intimidating.

I still remember having my boobs groped by some random bloke at Alton Towers when I was about 15. It scared me at the time and obviously got to me as I've never forgotten it. He totally Overstepped what's acceptable and I was too shy to say anything at the time.

So it's not a new thing.

It's never bothered me,a whistle I take as a compliment, lewd comments I can deal with, I'm good at sharp comebacks, but can see why that would piss off/upset some. random gropers tend to regret it once I've kneed them in the balls. That kind of behaviour I take a really dim view of.

I wouldnt mind being wolf whistled and also wouldn't take offence to having my bum pinched when on a night out for instance. I do get the feeling I'll be in the minority with this though.

I've been groped many times, not in recent years but between the ages of 11 and 23ish it happened a couple of times a year. I had been instilled with the notion that, as a female, it was my duty to politely receive male attention and not to make a fuss if that attention was not to my liking. Fuck that.

i think it (wolf whistling) is pretty archaic, and i get that some women will be ok with it/find it a compliment etc but equally not all women and younger females will welcome it and feel comfortable..

for some it will not be a nice experience at all and why should anyone be made to feel that way when just going about their business is a bit beyond me..

i wouldn't class it as harshly as some of the other instances mentioned, they are quite simply an assault..
