If I send a polite message, and the lady deletes it, why would she feel the need to block me?

Possibly because she has experienced chaps repeat messaging or asking her why she didn't respond the first time, that's a fairly regular occurrence in my experience.

Maybe you remind her of an ex, maybe she's just fed up, maybe it's a personal choice or maybe its her TOM, who nows dude, just let it go. POF in the fab sea.

I often block people we've said no to just to stop the exact same opening message plopping onto our inbox a month later cos they've forgotten they've already done it and been told no. Happened four times with one guy!
