Has anyone ever had to cancel a meet through genuine illness or injury, either before or during? And did you feel bad for having to cancel knowing it sounds like a bit of a cop out? Or have you had someone cancel on you through some sudden illness, and did you believe their story or not?

Yes we have we were both Ill, I had a chest infection and breathing was hard enough let alone fucking.

Luckily we have been invited back and the people were understanding.

Yes.

We had a couple cancel on us because of illness. We didn't mind, but they sent us pics of them in the hospital because they thought we didn't believe them

And we very recently had to cancel because I was ill. I felt aweful, and it sounds like such an excuse, but there was nothing to be done. We rescheduled for a couple weeks later and it was awesome

I guess if you're got good swinging credentials then you're more likely to be believed. If you're more of a newbie then people could be more suspicious.

He did, all the way from London to Cornwall and I ended up with my pacemaker

On my old single profile yes,I had tonsillitis, thankfully he understood .I was cancelled too for illness,it can't be helped and I think you can tell when someone is genuinely ill.

Yes I had a forumite cancel on me.

A meet was arranged and a date confirmed, I had chid care covered and drove the hour or so to meet her, saw she was online through the day and though everything was cool. wondered around her home town waiting for a message to go pick her up but nothing,

I messaged her in the end a few times and asking what was going on only to be told she was ill and couldn't make it. So I was left wondering around her home town.

Do I believe her story? not one bit

The only thing that got me was that she could of canceled the meet at anytime through the day but failed to do so.

Worst still was that she then rearranged for 2 days later, by this time I had wised up a little and didn't bother even getting ready, funnily enough she made no contact at all so I guess that was a double let down.

My arthritis sometimes means I can't have comfortable sex. It's why I don't make too many arrangements when the weather is really cold. I could wake up and barely be able to move.

I've cancelled because of conjunctivitis, the flu and cold sores-which have appeared during the day of the meet.

I want to be in the best of health when I meet someone.

If i have to cancel it's usually because of my bambino's getting poorly.

Doesn't happen often but when it does it's usually a last minute cancel on the morning of the meet.

I've had to cancel/postpone a few times - I managed to injure myself internally last year (a gruesome and embarrassing story which doesn’t need repeating here ) which put paid to any naughtiness for about 6 weeks and have been caught out by Mother Nature once or twice too as I'm sure many other women have been.

No one's cancelled on me yet ...

I had to cancel due to my daughter being ill.. She'd been up all night vomiting, very unpleasant..

The person I was meeting was very understanding and we have met since..

As long as it seems plausible, why should we think the worst of everyone..

If someone said that they couldn't meet as they had killed their goldfish washing it in the washing machine and was holding a wake for it, I'd guess that perhaps they were making it up..

A guy travelled up from Brighton to where I was living in Surrey. About 5 minutes before he arrived something happened which required a phone call to the police. The guy arrived at my house (I texted saying something had happened, but I guess he didn't see it until he pulled up), found me trying to roll a fag sat on the front wall and shaking. He ended up lending me his lighter, waiting until the police arrived then went back to Brighton... poor sod. At least he believed me!

Not meeting

We're not currently meeting due to Frank's illness. If we are in the mood we'll go to a club but all very last minute.

I also have a medical condition which can cause a meet to be cancelled as I can't function when it flares up - luckily it's not happened yet but I have had to cancel due to a child being ill
