Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Do you have good and bad times of the year?

Late September and October I struggle as SAD starts to take hold and then I get used to it and rally again.

This time of the year can be sad and is always full of introspection for me and then spring does its thing and I start to feel my mood shift into my favourite season when I can start to look forward.

I suffer from S.a.d. badly and hate winter as it's dark when I go to work, dark while I'm at wirk and if I don't get up early enough dark when I wake up.

Statted taking vitamin D tablets this year which have taken some of the edge off.

Also saw my first daffodils starting to sprout so that's cheered me up a bit.

-Dan.

I used to find midwinter difficult but since semi retirement I spend a lot of time outside and I'm fine. Now I'm a grumpy old cow all year

January/February time is always a sad time for me as January is the month my mum passed 3 years ago, then February would have been her birthday..

I always get a little down when the dark nights start in October too, and the thought of them stretching out for 6 whole months...but I think most people feel the same

The first sign of flowering also cheers me up. It's time for us to emerge.

Februaury can fuck the fuck off, hideouls month. March can be OK, although last March was bitter. By April, I'm generally happy.

I've been getting really angry this last year. Is grumpy the next step?

February is almost over. I hope it wasn't too bad this year.

I remember your hatred of February. I'll buy you a pie in March if you're free. Pie makes things feel better.

yes, you have all this and a hairy chin to look forward to

Truth? I am lucky enough to be at a place in my life where apart from the normal ups and downs I'm content. Seasonal? I don't know unless its the season of my life.

I have the hairy chin.

I didn't mean to link the seasons to the weather so much. My end of February/beginning of March 'season' is about history and not the weather.

I have found this winter difficult because I've been 'trapped' at home with my operation and the days have been cloudy.

Very few sunny days so far this year

That's why I mentioned the season of my life. It's the mellow autumn, the sun still shines but its softer and the leaves are starting to turn. I might not feel the same come the winter of my life

I sort of did on Thursday. With Doris giving everyone a bj I decided to stay in bed. I had to get up for a conference call in the afternoon but apart from that a lot of lazy day helped no end.

Dark damp cold mornings nights and overcast days can make everyday seem like shit.

I just work then sleep as I dont fancy doing anything else really.

I should have been born a dormouse and hibernate in winter.

But soon as the days get lighter and warmer I come alive and want to be out and about etc and my mood lifts.

I think most people feel pretty shit in winter .

It's almost over. I saw sunshine either side of Doris this week. It's going to get nippy again for a few days but the evenings are lighter and the vernal equinox is less than a month away.

I don't like from new years day right up until the end of March. I tend to feel much better by April and look forward to summer.

Every year I say I'm going to go on holiday mid January but I never do. Going to try and do it for next Jan

Book it now and you know you have something to look forward to and not something to dread.

I think from mid Jan to the end of Feb is the worst time of year. I've got daffodils and primroses flowering in the garden so spring is definitely on its way.

I definitely feel the seasons, in particular January and February are the worst two months of the year, dark, cold, miserable, drizzly. We're almost through them, the evenings are getting lighter, Spring just around the corner... it all gets better from here

In the middle

I detest the winter and everything about it, as soon as the nights start drawing in my mood an enthusiasm draws in with them, I just crave the sun and the warmth on my face, I'm a different person when the spring/summer and warm autumns are upon us
