How many of your meets came about as a result of interaction in the forums? Most of my messages and meets have started with discussions in the forum. Personally I think forum users are a little more likely to be invested in the scene and meeting than your average Joe with an account here.

Or is the opposite true for you - do you have more luck from sending / replying to messages from non-forumites?

I don't keep a tally of how I met my meets but I can say my best meets have been from here. I guess because you have already built a rapport first and already have a feel for whether you will click.

There are some disrespectful people on the forums, it's not a fool proof method of guaranteeing you get to meet a good person, but thankfully the majority are good eggs

I was curious to see how many of the forumites manage to get meets through the forums. I think it's a relatively underused tool.

I'm just laughing because I've just updated my status relating to this topic. I've only been on fab a few weeks and a week ago I just thought I'd have a look on the forum. Came across a very lengthy thread and I felt compelled to message the op. We've not stopped messaging since and have a very exciting meet planned for next week. I think I've only met one forumite so far, and that was co-incidence we met at a club. But met a lot from the chat rooms, mainly the SW Chat room as at least they are generally closer. There are some people I'd love to get my hands on from the forums but they are generally further away.

And I generally spend most of my time in the politics forum and meeting most there would probably result in a brawl lol

In the five years on and off here , we've met and played with two , and socially perhaps a handful in clubs .

One forum user we met a second time

But as a % of our meets , the forum represents less than 1% , which is probably about the same % of fab members that use the forum .

My whole forum time has been pretty short compared to my whole fab time. I wish I'd come here earlier as I was the typical moronic bloke.

So I'm starting from a point of all meets coming from off the forum/chatrooms.

I use the forums for its mine of information and entertainment value. But whilst I've not had a meet off the back of a forum I've found it's at least possible to get an interaction with people, unlike sending messages which invariably get deleted.
