great pieces of advice....

Newcastle and Gateshead

sorry not really been here much in the last 10 days.... real life has a habit of getting in the way, but sometimes it really does end up putting everything in prospective....

(don't worry... normal service will be resumed!)

so anyway, there's me feeling down and listening to an inter_iew on a podcast when he said something that really struck home...

when asked about great pieces of advice he answered "Everything works out the way it is suppose to..... it always does!" and it really got me thinking.. and it is so true....

so are there any great pieces of advice or pearls of wisdom that you would like to share.........

If you do something for someone, forget it immediately. If someone does something nice for you, never forget it

It is true actually. I've followed that instinct so many times in the past and it's carried me through more times than not. I use it a lot myself when giving advice but usually add, "if humans don't interfere too much."

Something I have learnt in a training class, in preparation for plant closure:

Think back 5 years ago, and write down what you were doing, where you lived, the job you had, the relationship you were in, the worries you had etc...

And then reflect on how you managed to cope with the ups and downs.

Most people come out with positive thoughts, and that life is not that bad afterall.

matthew 17:20.

If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to your mountain, "MOVE!" and it WILL move... and NOTHING will be impossible for YOU!

For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Don't say you're up for anything and will try anything.

Everyone has limits. At least, everyone sane does, and nobody sane would want to play with anyone who really doesn't have limits.

Think about what you want, what you'd like to try, what you might like to do eventually and what you definitely don't want to do. And think about what you have to offer as well as what you want.

I've already heard the 'I'll do anything' line here a few times, mostly from young, overly enthusiastic guys who haven't really thought about, or realised what "anything" could mean.

'Never let the sun go down on an argument' and 'Life's too short to waste your dreams'. Both put in to context as my friend was found dead yesterday. Not that we'd fallen out or anything- far from it- but life IS too short to waste

LOL, you should be very bad and troll them:

Example:

"Hullo, we'd love to hear from you! We're getting the cat covered in poo and semen as I type, could you pick up some razors from Tesco? TIA! See you soon!"

Trollololololol! :D

"LOL, you should be very bad and troll them:"

So far I've suggested a few things from the more extreme end of the spectrum and asked if they're interested in trying those. Then I suggest a bit of a re-evaluation and a bit more thought.

The last guy who told me he was up for anything did so shortly after I'd seen photos of someone having needles inserted under their toenails and their toes nailed, (yes, nailed, with a hammer and nails), to a block of wood, for sexual kicks. He went a bit quiet when I asked if he'd be up for that, (not that *I* would, btw, but it did illustrate my point). I think it also scared him away totally lol.

I don't do trolling. I just say exactly what I think, which is sometimes mistaken for trolling!
