Tea dilemma

Going to be controversial here, but when you're making a cup of tea do you put the milk in before or after the hot water.

For the record I don't mind either.

I make tea in a mug so teabag, add water, brew then milk.

If it's a pot, then I add the milk to the mug/cup first then add the tea!

It depends if you are using a tea pot or not.

If not then milk after (otherwise it can't brew)

Oh god help us hatter the tea hevens are out.

Op here are the Tea rules

Bone China only! I have a separate mug that's ONLY for tea.

Teabag in mug add boiling water, not off the boil it has to be still boiling.

Let the tea bag rest for desired strength. 1 min for me.

Then take out teabag squeeze so you get a bit extra.

NOW add milk and or sugar.

Drink whilst hot.

NEVER DRINK COLD TEA. That way is where the devil lies.

I'd go with afterwards. I'd also add that more than one tea bag is required for the larger cup.

The fact you had nerds lying around to put in tea is the most shocking aspect.

Nerds should be eaten within 30 seconds of purchase. Runts should be eaten even sooner (especially the banana ones).

"putting milk in tea warrants the death penalty"

Depends on the tea. A proper cup of Yorkshire demands full-fat milk and a good heaping of sugar.

We always have nerds. It's the only sweet thing Marc eats. He hides them from himself so he doesn't eat too many....And I thought since they were mostly sugar anyway, what could go wrong.

It went horribly wrong...

Milk first when you make proper tea in a tea pot with tea leaves. Otherwise if you will insist on using a tea bag then it's milk after having allowed the tea to brew first

Milk in first, then the teabag, top the cup up with boiling water. Any other way and you end up with a scummy film round the cup

The teabag must never make contact with the milk. Brew first, remove bag, add milk.

Yes agree I never drink cold tea. I also don't take sugar so tend to get lazy and put the milk in first though it does taste better after.

As for nerds and icing sugar ewww what a way to ruin a cuppa
