Yep...soooooo true. I lived in Essex then and the irony was i was a tree surgeon at the time. I couldn't even get down my own road for two days and it was a main route. Worked non stop for over 9 months on storm damage trees.

I had a very eventful driving lesson earlier. Fallen trees giving me impromptu practice at 3 point turn, manoeuvring around wheelie bins and shopping trolleys which were in the road and a emergency stop for a bit of fence panel flying into the road.

It was great fun

Thankfully so far Doris hasn't done too much damage in my neighborhood apart from a few branches off trees and blowing over some of my tall container plants in the garden. I hope the worst of it has passed now.

Yep 1.5 hours to get round a roundabout under the m25 due to foreign lorry drivers not being able to read the diversion signs, even had to abandon the car at one point for a wee on middle of the roundabout. When you've got to go you've got to go. I hate living near the QE2 bridge
