"if your the only named driver on the insurance and you can put a spouse or parent on it even if they never drive your car you will see a decrease of £50 - £100" I've got both parents named...brings it down significantly. It's kind of annoying such a powerful expensive car is less than half what I pay on a distinctly average car

"Check cashback sites for insurers who pay cashback via the site. Haggle with your old insurer if you find lower quotes elsewhere. " Tried that and failed miserably Wouldn't get anywhere near other quotes. So I'll be leaving once I switch cars

"The mind boggles! Been on the hunt for a new car, currently paying £1400 on a 1.8 140bhp Civic. Viewed a 2.0 200bhp type R FN2 Civic today - £1000 to insure. Will be looking at the new type R - 2.0 310bhp...£600 to insure Weird and wonderful things Now you can all break my heart and tell me about your cheap insurance " The way they see it is the higher the value the more sensible you will drive it so not to wreck it. When I had my Jzx100 it was 850 a year fully comp but a new Nissan Gtr was only 650.

" The way they see it is the higher the value the more sensible you will drive it so not to wreck it. " It doesn't work like that. If you crash a £100K car, the insurance company has a six figure problem on their hands. That's what they're considering when they quote you.

Just going by what the Aviva guy told me when I asked for the Gtr quote and queried the cheap price.

"Check cashback sites for insurers who pay cashback via the site. Haggle with your old insurer if you find lower quotes elsewhere. Tried that and failed miserably Wouldn't get anywhere near other quotes. So I'll be leaving once I switch cars " its due to the area that you live in. As dosnt help being one of the highest areas for cars going missing or for cars used in insurance claims

"Focus ST renewal last year was £239 that's cause it's slow £270 for my BMW135i 326BHP running through those rear wheels, leaves the ST for dust " More like employment, driving record, postcode etc as insurance companies dont take into account whether or not the car will be left for dust buy BMW135 drivers...as their more of a risk to insurance companies for wanting to race and cause more accidents

"Whoever said insurance drops at 25 is a lier! " You're absolutely right! I'd been told this when I was younger, but I never noticed a drop in my insurance when I turned 25. I did, however, get a discount when I passed my Advanced Driving Test, though I should state that this is only relevant to those insurers who offer such a discount. Currently I'm paying less than £200 to insure my 21 year old 3.8 litre American Sports car. Conversely though, I'm paying around twice that for a 6 year old 1.4 litre Toyota Yaris - though it has to be said that I use my no claims on the Firebird, and started the Yaris off on a new policy last year without any No Claims, so should go down quite a bit on renewal.

"Have you tried Adrian flux? They we good with the disco mods " That's who I'm with. Been with them on my old civic and mods wise they couldn't care less as far as the audio was concerned which is why I went with them originally.
