He would have been 50 today.

Still listen to Nevermind occasionally 25 years after it was released.

Any favourite artists or albums you still listen to?

I was never really a Nirvana fan. Their music to my ears was infantile, simplistic noise. Nell likes them though.

Artists that are no longer with us that I listen to regularly are...

Gary Moore.

Rory Gallagher.

Prince.

Hendrix.

Django Reinhardt.

Thinking about it, most of the music I enjoy is by people who are currently dead!

I saw them twice and was underwhelmed both times.

Had Cobain not died his limitations as a songwriter would have seen them fade away rather than confirm their status as legends

I'm not sure I agree, Dave grohl seems to be an excellent song writer, all round musician and good egg.

I refered to Cobain not Grohl. And while I agree that Grohl is talented Foo Fighters will never be remembered for being groundbreaking

I never saw a live show, but it seems from footage he was constantly out of his mind.

Don't get me wrong; I like the songs. But I probably wouldn't be as big of a fan now if the band didn't come to such an abrupt ending.

My claim to fame I saw them in a medium sized club in Manchester before they really made it big.

I am a total music geek I still play all my old albums and heaps of new stuff too

Not a huge Nirvana fan but I heard 'About A Girl' on the radio today and I'd forgotten how good it is. Great tune and Kurt was a cracking singer. For all of the noise Nirvana made he had a natural gift for writing good melodies.

I think had he lived he'd have had an up and down career quality wise, like most rock stars really.

Still listen to loads of dead musicians, bowie, prince, James brown, Lou reed, Love (Arthur lee) Suicide (Alan Vega), The Associates (billy mackenzie) Joy Division, Marc Bolan... Loads of others.

The late great SRV who I was lucky enough to see at Manchester Apollo in '88. I have a couple of his albums on vinyl and several of his cds. He was more of a legend than Kurt in my opinion
