Personal rejections.

So after ( for all you men who moan about non responses even a no thanks ) politely telling someone they're not my type I recieve a triad of personal abuse on a next message. Why do men( and possibly woman) do this? Is polite rejection on a site with thousands of people on it really that bad or worth it? Not everyone is going to be someone's type.

Insecure, narcissistic egos which lead them to believe that the actions of other people are all personal.

No it wasn't, and In Defence only one in 20ish act that way but still makes it hard all around, and then poor inocent people wonder why we just go block without the courtesy of a response.

Alot of guys use this as a way to hurt women once they have been rejected as they think alot of women are insecure about their weight. They think it will get in their heads. But I always looked at it like this.. if I am so fat that I am ugly to you then why did you message me in the first place. Must be a desperate lonely man to need to stoop to messaging me. (I mean I am a big girl but that is another story entirely)

I think it's a lack of maturity and quite sad really.

I've heard women say that a guys been flirty chatty friendly when he's trying to get laid but when she says a polite no thank you she's all of a sudden fat and ugly and he wouldn't shag her anyway !!

I think it's brilliant that you ladies come on fab and would hate any to leave over personal abuse.

I've had it from couples and single women but I'm sure most are men pretending as I've never sent any message that deserves a nasty reply

Better still just delete it. You're never gonna meet them and no one owes anyone a explanation

I'm increasingly thinking I should just block all the people I say 'thanks, but no thanks' to - precisely to avoid the sort of immature and rude responses you've described. That .... and those who demand to know 'what's wrong', 'why not' or even 'what can I do to change your mind?'. Or, people who then repeat message you a few weeks later .

It's always felt a bit 'off' to block people who've sent a polite message but some of those then reveal a different side, and I guess the genuine ones would understand you blocking them if nothing was ever going to happen.

I don't block them, because their abuse has zero impact on me, knowing as I do that it stems purely from their own feeling of inadequacy and has nothing to do with me.

It's their problem at the end of the day, not yours! You did what you felt was right for you...who has the right to judge? None of us "like" rejection...it is human nature to want to be liked...but it shows who is the more mature of the two...the one who can say no thank you and stand by it.

The empathetic sex are becoming less so, it seems. I don't mind rejection because no one else is the origin of my self worth, but l can definitely see why it can hurt, especially if it's en masse.

Personally I find it easier just to ignore & bulk delete.

If I send a no thanks I very rarely enter into conversation as to my reasoning.

How could you!

Are you even aware that you have crushed his fragile male ego, it will take years for him to get over the fact you said no to him politely

At least the abuse you got reiterated why you didn't want to meet up with the guy.

If you can't handle a polite 'no thank you' you shouldn't be on here. Anyone who sends abuse after being politely turned down is an entitled arse hole. They're basically a toddler throwing their toys because they want the pretty sparkly thing they've just seen NOW. Tough titty, no one owes you anything
