"I haven't had it done but I am having tests done in order to be able to hopefully have it done later in the year. They'll do it under general anaesthetic though as they plan on sterilising me at the same time. You'll have to let me know how you get on x" Thanks. I think the fear of the pain level is pretty high at the moment. This is the compromise before possibly having everything out but to do that, i need to shift loads of weight. Having read the stuff provided by the company that make it, it seems pretty good.

"Ive had this done a few times. You'll be tender afterwards but its manageable with paracetamo , take the time to rest though and be kind to yourself. One thing I was shocked about was the shoulder pain, Im not internally sure why but after all laparoscopic procedures shoulder pain is common. Drinking peppermint tea really helps relieve it. " . It's because your abdomen is filled with air whilst undertaking the procedure, this is the same with many abdominal and bowel procedures, the air then has to dissipate and does so fairly slowly, hence becoming trapped and giving you pain as it rises to your chest, the chest and shoulder pain can be extreme and many have felt like they are having a heart attack, you are very right, peppermint is helpful, also hot tea, walking up and the down the stairs is brilliant, if you need to lie down then lying on your right hand side is the best position Mrs blue eyes

" I've had two previous laparoscopicies and yes the shoulder pain was a killer! This is a different procedure, similar to a d and c I believe. It's done in 90 seconds.

"I have been offered this but turned it down. I'd much rather deal with my problems medically, rather than surgically. I'm lucky that the meds are working at the moment but I'm sure I'll have to have it done at some point. I do know someone who it didn't go too well for, but she's one of those that nothing goes right for!!!! Good luck op. Keep us posted x" Having tried tablets etc, I'm at the point of return now. Won't post details here, in case anyone with a sensitive disposition have a look! But it's really not pleasant for me at all and it impacts on my daily life far too much and with two young children, it's awful having to say, no sorry we can't go out mummy doesn't feel well. I'm glad you are under control with yours and long may it continue! Yes, get it about your friend! I've spoken to a few people but they all have a negative outlook about stuff so I'm going in with a positive attitude and think it really can't make it any worse!

" I think you should post all the gory details Just kidding. I know how you feel! I was finding it hard with work and the kids. Constantly popping painkillers, heat pads the lot. At times I've wanted to wear adult nappies just to feel secure that I wasn't going to leak everywhere. I have everything crossed for you. Positive thinking is an absolute must and the only way to go.
