What do you watch your movies in 3D or 2D I watch the in 3D even 2D ones?

I've yet to see a 3d movie..well...the proper ones lol..I've watched a little avatar on a 3d tv..it was great...but I just cant really sit with specs on my face(despite the fact I should wear them lol).

Even though I've a 3d all singing and dancing TV I have to use just 2d. 3d gives me a headache due to my crap eyesight

Generally 2D. The only 3D film I've seen that I thought was worth it was Avatar.

There's a reason they try 3d every 20 years or so. It's a bit of a fad and soon wears off. Same as the curved tvs which serve absolutely no purpose whatsoever as it's been proven if you sit at an angle to them you can't see the picture properly.

I think the curve is the wrong way round if you look at the old tv the curve is like this )where new ones like this (

2d. It's how movies should be made.

My opinion is that 3D is a gimmick. It's a camera trick, not storytelling.

I've seen 3D, which is very clever but it's not an amazing experience. Unless it's on an amusement ride which enhances it. What is WOW about the actor on screen looking 3D? I doesn't make sense?

2D, 3D is a waste for home cinema, I did go to watch Avatar in 3D which I did enjoy in that format, but its just a gimmick at the end of the day, and one that hasn't taken off at the home, hence why TV makers have stopped making 3D TVs.

3D when the effects are not deliberate has its place, in Avatar when you saw the helicopter full of troops land and every face was in focus, that was good... but if stuff leaping out of the screen overtakes the story line it ruins movies.

As far as TV goes, 2D all the time, its something you glance at while doing other stuff, don't want to put on specs and be forced to look at the screen.

Thats beacause the eye is convex, so making a concurve screen means it follows the same contour as the eyes surface- just like they did with Cinemascope back in the middle of the last century.

It can also help to cut doen on reflections- although i've found that on mine there is an angle to the side it can pick up more, but overall there are less.

The thing about not being able to see at an angle is bollocks. Any TV, particualry LED/LCD has an angle of incidence and the curved one is no worse than the average flat one- you can still see a good 75 degrees to either side- if you're that far round, you're not really interested in watching it anyway

That doesn't make sense, the image passes through the lens of the eye which is like 0 but restricted so only the center of the lens is looking, and read from three back of the eyeball which is ) while the tv is ( so it's like (0)

just normal 2d.

3d is nothing special, they dont even make 3d tvs anymore, sony stopped making 3d tvs few months back, samsung lg stopped couple of years back. 3d never took off and never will. 3d movies will disappear within a couple of years.

Whilst the general consensus seems to be against 3D.

We love our 3D TV's, for films or general TV.

Though, sssing Dot Cotton bursting out your screen can be a bit off putting

Even for the PS4 is great, particularly for 2 player, split screen games, where the technology allows you to only see your half of the screen in full screen and not even see the other players half of the screen.

As someone said with it causing them a head ache, it can have this effect on Mrs too after some time.

And again, it depends on the film, if the film fully depends on 3D effects for it to be any good, it has the opposite effect.

Watching a great film in 3D after you've watched it in 2D can add a completely different dynamic, experience and entertainment value to the film.

Our kids adore it too.

I've got 3 films in 3d that i love watching, Avatar, Everest and Closer to the edge.

As has been said though, 3d films are defunct. For 2 reasons really, the first is that the vast majority of 3d films are badly made (in 3d) and secondly because we now have 4K and UHD.

If you watch a UHD film on a properly calibrated OLED tv the image on the screen is a close as it comes to being 3d without the need to make it in 3d in the first place. When all films are made in 4K or UHD and tv's get even better than they are now, we will all look back and laugh at the crap 3d films we watched.
