A friend of a friend is on a dating website. She's gotten a message from some lad and now he's asked if she's got a full length pic (not naked lol) as she only has a face one on there.

Shes got the right hump about it saying he's shallow etc. Everyone is agreeing with her.

Apart from me...

I must be shallow too.

I'm not looking for Mr perfect but there's some things I wouldn't find attractive so to save wasting anyone's time a full length photo would just make sense to me.

She's said it's shallow to want to meet someone based on what body type they have and told him he has issues

(seems a bit the other way to me but hey ho)

I'm fat - there's no two ways about it . But I can take a face pic from the right angle and you'd have no way of knowing . So when I was on a dating site I made sure there was a full length pic as I'd be mortified if someone turned up on a date and was expecting something different . I think it's completely fair for someone to want to see someone 'in full'

It sounds to me like she's insecure with her body. Maybe she's had a lot of rejection because of her size on dating sites (I've experienced this a lot) so thinks this is just going to happen again so could be her defence mechanism.

I do agree with u tho that there is nothing wrong with asking for a full pic. I too like to see a pic of the guy because I like to see what his clothes are like

Depends on the dialogue I think; as to if I'd be offended. If he's initiated the message to her, chatted her up and said she was gorgeous, etc... then dropped it in after, asking could he have a full length pic, I think I'd be slightly confused by him, as in one breath he's saying he fancies her, and in another he's saying he might not.

You need to put a full length pic up on dating sites always, or write your dress/trouser size, or both. Otherwise you're going to waste yours and the other parties time so many times.

Sometimes it takes every ounce of will power and self belief to put yourself out there and look for a partner "who will surely love you for who you are" (your friends have assured you you're a catch!)

So perhaps, when the one thing that has been holding you back and making you doubt your worthiness gets questioned, you get a knee jerk reaction. You get rattled, and confidence plummets, brains says "I knew it! Only thin girls find love".
