I have a fairly wide ranging love of music from punk, rock, ska, classical, etc.. But seriously think the '80's were sublime in what was produced. Discuss.

I used to hate the 80s with all the same old cheesy tunes you hear in reflex. But the were some real treasures if you dig deeper that Abba and the like.

I'm a big fan of rock and metal music, which wouldn't be around now without bands like black sabbath in the 70s and 80s, so I have a massive soft spot for a lot of the older bands!

I think the fact it runs from post punk, through to acid house and in that time witnesses the emergence of hip hop as a force to be reckoned with, but also sees the continuation of factory produced pop (not necessarily a bad thing) alongside true independents and the continuation of giants of the 60s and 70s did make it a unique decade.

I do like those bands but i think im the oposite of you two,im more a pantera or sepulture type fan,i listen to an internet radio station called crucial velocity radio ots full on in your face metal 24/7

See I've morphed into more of a Rock & Blues fan these days, but I still listen to some 70's & 80's Rock bands although I've never been a fan of Thrash Metal.

The 80's post punk scene through to grime on the early 90s saw some great alternative music. Then Britpop happened and it all went to shit
