Very difficult to judge where you are on the course as it's constantly changing direction. One of the best organised I've done but strangely underwhelming possibly due to walk back to the car park and how long it takes to get out of them.

"Gah..... Think I've got a touch of runners knee.... Do I attempt a long run tomorrow or just a 10k and stretches etc?! I can't do a long run this weekend and don't want to fall behind in my training " No injury ever resolved by training through it. Think long and hard before doing a long run as a niggle may become a whole lot more serious

" I'd love to run but have tendonitis in BOTH heels. It's agony. Any advice on this would be good apart from the ice, rest and compression." As with Evie, you've got to give it time. The last thing you want to do is go through the route of cortisone shots

Also booked a massage for the Tuesday after the marathon and been told to have an ice bath if I can on the day." In my experience the best thing to do to help recovery is keep moving after you've finished. Walking (or shufling) loosens the legs up

Very little in the week and then a big one Sunday morning" Indeed, I've changed my schedule as I'm pissed off running alone, so changed my days for club nights for the easier shorter runs. I'm just off 4 days of running, so am pleased but sad in equal measures....lol I've got a 100 mile monthly target in my sights so have got a bit carried away tbh......so Sunday long run it is...

"Did a 8 mile run (was going to be 10 miles) on Sunday and my knee, which had been giving me some slight pain earlier in the week, seriously started to hurt at mile 6 so stopped at 8 and really struggled to walk home. It's now Thursday I have slight pain and stiffness but the question is, do I enter the Liverpool Half Marathon as planned (done it since 2010) ? I hope I can start running again soon but conflicted And yes followed RICE since Sunday " When is the race?

"After two years, 15/16 HMs, I finally broke my PB and the target I set right after running my first HM..... Finally got that bloody monkey off of my back, it feels great. " Well done, I did the same last year with my HM times, desperately wanted to get under 2 hours, even on one occasion (Liverpool HM) 2 hours exactly..gutted. Then last year at the Bolton half 1hour 56 (still smiling now) Do we as Runners keep moving the goal posts as I am now wanting to knock off 7 minutes for a sub 1hr 50 ? Also desperate to do a sub 50 for my 10k currently 51.36 (more achievable) Injuries stopped my progress recently.

Then last year at the Bolton half 1hour 56 (still smiling now) D" Haha that was my target......my first ever 13.1 miles was 2:00:53 (emblazoned on my memory) on a tough training run, so assumed that in a race I'd improve on that........erm nope.......I've run 11 official races and now a few more training distances and at last broke the 2 hours barrier (I ran 1:53:53) so was well chuffed. I am setting no more time targets haha..! ps if I'd done 2 hours dead for my PB when chasing sub 2, I think I would have retired in disgust...! Well done on your perseverance

"I was stewarding at Brighton Half yesterday which was great fun. Slightly disappointed that an event that grosses well over half a million in entry fees doesn't provide volunteers with anything more than a sandwich and a soft drink." And the encouragement given it's not only Runners that deserve a medal, I mean it as well I ran Liverpool Half one year it was pouring down with rain, perfect for me but I didn't half feel sorry for the Volunteers handing out a water. I intend to give back and volunteer (maybe this year, due to injury) myself. Thanks for being there, no race without you

"Leeds half in just over 4 weeks. Up to 8 miles so need to up it for the last few weeks. " You should really be doing 10 miles by now But up it over the next couple of weeks by a mile each time 9, then 10. You'll find that the adrenalin on the day will carry you over the last mile or two

This is my 1st race and to say I was a couch potato and couldn't run for a bus 8 weeks ago is an understatement I'm nervously excited about the day but if get to 11 miles before the day I will be happy and as you say the crowds can carry you home.

I think one year I did 10 or 15k once about month before the race. Hate running!!!!! Love the GNR on my my good years I was just "gym fit" and rocked up and did it. This year will be my 10th consecutive! Aiming for 2hrs10 (7mins faster than my PB). And nope still not "run" training.

The second ended up with drinking two bottles of lucozade sport a day as well as several small meals

"You shouldn't really need to carb load for a half marathon. Your body is not really going to go into deprivation over that distance. Just fluids, and maybe gels if you need them, on the day Don't mess about with breakfast in the day. Keep it simple. Toast and peanut butter, a banana perhaps. Otherwise you'll get a bad stomach and end up looking for toilets along the way Oh, and make good use of the toilets before you start. You'll be peeing like a horse " I didn't really need to - I'd never done it before so thought I would give it a go and follow a program. I never thought eating would be hard work! As a bloke, it is such a relief that they have urinal style toilets at big races now

And don't experiment with gels on race day, stick with the brand and flavours you know. I have a very simple breakfast of cereal bars or at the most a toasted bagel otherwise it plays havoc with my gut

" T-shirt and a medal - usual stuff. That's GNR territory with that price. I accept that closing roads in London is expensive but still crazy money

"London Landmarks has an amazing course compared to any other half in London, and arguably the country. Starts outside buckingham place, trafalgar square, St Pauls, Bank of England, Tower of London, House of Parliament, Finishes outside Downing Street. These are world fmaous iconic landmarks Also its organised by Tommy's charity as a fund raiser rather than a commercial organsation which sits comfortable with me. They seem to be putting a lot of effort in to making it something special. I;m entering it" Checked it out, looks good and goes to a very worthy cause. I may well do it too

"Back to basics I've entered myself and my daughter into the Chatsworth Hall one mile music run in July. I can't run for toffee, what the hell have I done " One mile is only 1600 paces Just relax and enjoy the music I always do the fun run with the littleuns before the main race, when I can. It's a great feeling to cross the line with them, though my daughter is faster than me now
