"After my Thursday rant was dismissed because running was deemed to be 'undignified' (which it is when I'm pounding the streets tbf). Any runners out there in training for anything?? Anyone else constantly with Toe, feet, hip and joint pain?? Feel free to vent your love or loathing of running. " Can't you just get on a tread mill? It's softer than road? Runners toe I've seen solved by tying laces differently. I do have a hip problem, I have to struggle through my first mile approximately before it loosens up, I then can start running at 100%. (And yes. I do warm up). It's like it's locked up and then 'clicks' immediately after the click Im fine.

"I'm training for Snowdonia trail marathon. Every time I say that I realise a little more what a ridiculous fucking idea entering a marathon that goes over Snowdon was " I did a 27 mile walk from Stonehenge to Avebury, and the hills 3/4 of the way in were brutal, but a mountain is madness...good luck though

"Hey, wouldn't it be great to have a Fab team!! The after-run parties would be fun " Lots of massaging I'd imagine And going back to the op, if you've got aches from your toes to your hips, then you've got something seriously wrong with your gait First "steps" - are you over training and not recovering enough ? Are your shoes up to the job ? Get along to a good sports shop that'll do a gait analysis for you on a treadmill. That's not just for selling you expensive shoes. But will also advise you on running technique. Perhaps you're over striding and so on. You'll get lots of advice, often contradictory, telling you you need to run bare foot, or you over pronate and so on. ... But don't give up

"I used to suffer knee pain until I went and had my running assessed. I got trainers the suited my pronation and got tips to improve my gait and how I held myself when running. I've notice a massive improvement since then. If you shop around you may find a good dedicated running shop that will assess you on a treadmill. "

I had the gait checked and I'm overpronounced on one leg so changed my shoes from Expensive Asics to almost their cheapest and it fixed a foot problem........ My main issue is.....apart from being stupidly old to start running two years ago, lack of stretching afterwards

General consensus, nowadays is not to do static stretching, but dynamic stretching What cool down routine do you do ? I always finish a run with a 5/ 10 minute slow jog, and keep moving for a while afterwards

"I started running and enjoy the freedom, I progressed onto trail running like previous comments went and got fitted with decent shoes at a running shop worth every penny, no problems with aches and pains trail running is easier on the body than road running, I also do enduro MTB and gym work outs.. Trouble is running makes me very horney and I do enjoy sex when on a run lol " How about off road triathlon?
