Just a query thread more than anything. I've just been referred to as a mature lady. ....which I really didn't think of myself as being. I'd say 55 plus is mature? Any guidance appreciated x

Well cars are classed a vintage after 20 years, so you might describe yourself as that instead?

Mature in years or in mind. They'll be vastly different.

I'm neither. I refuse to mature

Someone in his very early 20s stated on here the other day that he views mature women as being 25+ so it depends on prospective I guess.

I'm the biggest kid going and regularly just have a laugh or climb up shit. It's just who I am. I don't view myself as mature. At 25 you've legally only been sexually active for 9 years. Don't think that constitutes enough experience to be classed mature

Maturing is overrated. ..I'll leave wine, whisky and cheese to mature

I've been called mature on here quite a few times. We've also been referred to as an older couple more than once (one time it was by someone one year younger than me ).

So I guess nature is whatever you want it to be. Though I personally tend to agree with your OP that I've always thought it was in the 55+ range. *shrugs*

This is interesting ... As you get older I think what you class as mature gets older too. That said someone told me I looked 52 the other day and then a 35 year old said I love the older woman.... X

Your perception of age changes as you grow up.

I'm 37 and at 16 I thought my mum was old at that age, anything older was just oooollllddd! Lol

But now I still feel like I'm 21 and people over 60 seem old but all depends on the person, their outlook on life, life style and actual style.

I know people my age that look 10 years older!

And the inverse of that is immature at under 55?

Surely maturity has little to do with age but rather to do with attitudes, respect, self awareness and the mind.....

Do I class myself as mature? If it's to do with feeling old, stodgy, inflexible, grumpy, glass half empty and traditional...then I'm a wee pup

Who cares?!

Why is it relevant or important?

Man is the only creature who divides daily life into segments and lives breathes and sleeps by that and that alone.

Age is a (cheesy cliche alert) number. You are, what and who you think you are.

In mind and body.

Do you really mean mature, or just old?

I'm middle-aged, make no claims to maturity. My mother is "old", 88 is old by anyone's standards

No I mean when you get messages saying they like "mature women" to me that suggests older....far more older than I. I don't feel at almost 35 that I am in the nature woman age group

Precisely when a 30 yr old asks if I like younger guys it really makes me a tad perplexed. Now if they were 25 maybe but 9/10 years isn't a lot.

It depends, I'm mature, because I understand people and how the world works and how to read situations.

Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional.

Not said to offend, far from it. Perhps, it's far more relevant to ladies, as everyone knows, ladies mature fastsr than men anyway

You'll likely find that us men, don't actually care about being labelled, so it's of little interest. Whereas, ladies, apparently, so I've been told, are obsessed by age, size, or simply being classified by a word.

Mature, aged, elderly, old fashioned (two words, i know) .

anyway, just stirring
