I get that. Fed up with being cold everyday this winter i finally relented and bought a few pairs of long johns. Now i wear them to bum around the house in. Not sure if they can be classed as sexy though.

I'm all about being confident but dress for your shape/size.

Just awful when you see a larger woman wearing only leggings and they're so stretched that they are see through (which is why I always wear with something covering my bum.) I essentially use them as though they were thick tights. I think anyone with a pert bum and toned thighs can get away with it though!

Clearly my statement was a generalised statement aimed to support in a positive way, if read carefully it's obvious I didn't state anybody in particular was hating on anybody, in fact the dictionary reference used clearly stated it doesn't necessarily mean people and was used in reference to being a hater of said clothing

There wasn't any "haters" until it was pointed out. (Well apart from the dinner comment, but most ignore it but to be fair, if you saw me in leggings I'd agree with that sentiment). I don't like wearing them and I think they aren't suited to everyone but hell if you have the confidence to do it, then go for it. Only way I could wear leggings is to have a maxi dress over the top

Both of the comments mentioned in my post were made before the 'haters' comment.

Opinions are fine and I agree on some they don't look great but it is very easy to make that observation without being offensive which what those two individuals were but like I say, I'm not surprised considering who it was that made them #ususualsuspects
