The art of conversation

Seems to be lacking a lot these days! When did the pursuit of getting wet override the ability to have a conversation with someone? I'd rather play with someone I can speak to or am I a dying race?

On the internet I'm not sure the art of conversation was ever that strong.

It seems to be doing fine in clubs and bars and such...

I only meet met I can have a conversation, share a laugh with. Stimulating my brain is a guaranteed way of getting me interested.

So you're not a dying breed OP, it just takes longer to find in my experience.

Or patience as Shag would say

Totally agree. The amount of messages that just say "hi" or "Xx" too many men just think by sending that you'll fuck them !

I've frequented clubs for many years yet the last time I went it wasn't the same. It was a 5-10 min chat then you saw people disappearing. I love the socials as they are a fantastic way to meet like minded individuals.

Yeah I don't get that....you wouldn't walk up to someone in a club say hi and expect their knickers to fall off

I'm glad to hear that. I don't see how you can be turned on if you can't converse. Just as well I'm practising patience x

What I wouldn't give to be able to have some decent conversation. Very rare on here.

Although saying that, since starting to post in the forums, it seems that all of those with the ability to hold a decent conversation are from the opposite side of the country.

Yes, I like the socials as well. It's interesting to hear about your experience at clubs, though. We go fairly often and talking usually takes most of the night. Huh.

Yeah I was a bit disillusioned and having been a member of that club for a long time it was a shame that it's changing. A lot of the folk I'd spoke said they usually frequent clubs for greedy girls, gang bang or bukkake events where there's no conversation so they don't see why they should bother. Maybe the mind set in the next generation is changing. It's not how I _iew swinging. I've made some fantastic friends over the years swinging.

Sex definitely starts in the mind. Well it does for me anyway.

Yes I too find that! I've had some amazing conversations with people in the USA or new Zealand yet can't get a giggle with someone 5 mins down the road

I can only speak for myself but so far i've had some great and lengthy chats with lady members on here. Maybe we're not a dying breed and it's more a case of simply sorting the wheat from the chaff. In this respect i think patience is key.

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

Unfortunately conversation died with the advent of text messaging..

The need to compress an entire sentence into a coded message ending in lol was the death knell for conversation..

Twitter, unfortunately was the final nail in its coffin..

There are a few of us that rebutted the trend and never jumped onto that bandwagon and are able to hold a fluent conversation without a without a single brl, no praw, txs, jelz or a goddamn mwah in site...

I have no interest in lengthy conversations with people on the internet. It would bore me.

.

I honestly can't say I've experienced this; in clubs people are more than willing to engage in conversation with me and on here so it can't be dying that rapidly.

Oh, perhaps the odd faf message. But I don't tend to get them very often.

It would appear so. Still, you can't always have everything.

I don't frequent clubs, so I can't comment on them, but maybe its a case of 'This is a sex site, not a dating site' and people thinking with their junk, rather than their brain.

Most "surprising" thing, I've found on Fabs, is that, some of the ladies, whom make a huge point of "no txt speak, no one liners" etc, quite often respond to a decent message (assumed "decent" as they reply, rather than delete and block!) with "hi" or some other meaningless dribble. Best responses I've received (even if they've been knockbacks) have been conversant, polite, and intelligent.

So, the criticism, is not exclusive to men......

Dunno, depends on what you find and who you speak to and about what.

Ya pays yer money, ya takes ya chances.

Oh no. I'd love a decent enough conversation. However, finding the elusive FWB on here seems an ongoing quest for me.

Distance plays a part, so it is just an organised shag etc.

But you'll surely find some on here like a chinwag, it's shutting them up that seems to be the problem.

I usually find that the best conversions and the best meets come from bonding over shared interests. So maybe use the forums to talk more about stuff you like, it's more of a natural way to connect.
