I just caught the tail end of an advert the selling point of which was

"Reality on demand".

Is reality something we can order now?

"Some on here would benefit from it "

I'm in total denial about my fat arse. It doesn't exist.

It was something to do with reality television.

I know they meant reality television but the phrase struck me.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I think I saw the ad a few days ago and the phrase jarred with me. Reality television is so scripted now that I wonder if it can even be called reality any more.

"Some on here would benefit from it "

This is why we should be able to 'like' (or kudos/whatever) posts.

I just found it odd that reality was something to be demanded rather than just being well...real.

I'm guessing it would be for me, as I find reality tv the most contrived claptrap on television. It's just unfortunate that it's so cheap and easy to make, and fill schedules with.

Sorry, just in one of them moods. Especially using the phone rather than pc, and loads of posts (especially to a long reply quoted that appears many times just to have a thumb or smiley at the end.

I dunno...reality seems pretty surreal lately

You'll have to enlighten me, I don't know it.

I'm pretty sure we get it for free, whether we like it or not! It's only 'slebs who struggle to "keep it real", maybe it was aimed at them?

If so, I can think of a few fabbers who could do with a bulk order

But everything is real isn't it? Or at least our individual perception of real? I can't demand that its more or less 'real'. Reality t.v. is a version of real. It just seemed a very odd phrase to use when I heard it, although I do know it just meant 'reality t.v. on demand'

"The quote from Videodrome spings to mind.

Brian O'Blivion, Videodrome: The television screen is the retina of the mind's eye. Therefore, the television screen is part of the physical structure of the brain. Therefore, whatever appears on the television screen emerges as raw experience for those who watch it. Therefore, television is reality, and reality is less than television.

There are no truths, only perceptions. That's the reality

May I be excused now, my brain hurts.
