I like holidays. Holidays do not exist for the purpose of getting money from consumers. They have been exploited for that purpose, but I think it's cynical to see it as their main reason for being.

I don't spend much money on any of those holidays and I still enjoy myself.

I bet Valentine's Day was a conspiracy by inter flora and all of the chocolate factory's and restaurants back in the day. And Guinness wasn't selling well, until some Irish guy marketed it. Lol

Apparently one of the only loosely traceable reference to anyone even resembling St valentine was a wayward womanising monk who was beheaded by the roman catholic church.....

But I may have just make that up
