Did a few year's ago. Upcycled the trampoline into a poly tunnel and viola...tomato's of all sorts, runner beans, cucumbers, peppers, butternut squash, sweet corn, beetroot, garlic, courgettes...can't compare the taste of home grown veg

Yes we grow tomatoes, usually three types, beefsteak, salad and cherry. What we can't eat fresh I freeze and use in soup and stews through the year. We grow a load of other stuff too.

My mums old neighbor who passed away a few years ago used to keep bottles of his piss that he used as nutrition for his potatoes n beetroots n whatever else he was growing at the time.

He was a proper eccentric,very clever n community spirited n very much a mad hoarder!

The nicest most helpful neighbor you could ask for but I never took him up on any of his offers of his pissed on veg!

I'd forgot about this but yep this guy has it you piss on them. The twat told me just as I finished the last 1 off. As I said best 1s I've ever tasted but for some reason I don't ask for them anymore. True story I'm sad to say

I haven't decided if I'm growing any this year. I normally grow some on my allotment but the site has been awash with blight for ages and last year even varieties with significant blight resistance produced next to nothing before being infected.

Decided to start early this year and put my seeds under a light that my neighbour donated in an attempt to give them a really good start in life.

They will be indoors, under light for 10 weeks before going in the greenhouse. That is 4 weeks longer than last year.

Just wondering if they will crop earlier as a result or if they will be stunted through being inside so long?

You get far better weather for it in Hastings I am sure. Come October, we lose everything that is still on the vine.

We have an allotment and the only thing to survive this year was the tomatoes. The bloody slugs ate everything else...

Anyone have any great tips for keeping slugs away, really do not want to use slug pellets but tried lots of different natural methods which didn't work..

We also had chickens but the fox ate them

So not doing very well at being self sufficient.
