So some people say it's a load of rubbish, others do the full shabang and buy gifts and roses. What's your view? Recognise it as a thing or do you think it's a load of crap?

Over rated if your single but guess it's nice for some I would be happy just to have a card lol

it's ok. i recognise the commercialism involved, same as christmas.

i've been in abusive relationships and that was the only time someone paid attention to me, for show though and not coz he gave a shit, so it's kind of tainted for me.

It means nothing to me, never has, doesn't matter if I'm in a relationship or not.

If i wasn't single then i'd want someone to show that they treasured me throughout the year not just on a given day....as i am single....then not really bothered but it'd be nice if i did get something unexpected.x

I doubt you'll find many that can tell you the true reason it's meant to be celebrated now a days without the use of google that is

I never had a deal made about it by my previous parners but at least the first was consistantly thoughtless and the other showed it every day...not sure I would be happy for someone that only showed me they loved me on one day a year...so yeah....twaddle!

You can call me old fashioned and kinky, Tonight if the woman turns up at ''D class where I go on a Monday, I am going to hand a card to her personally because I don't know where she lives.

I recognise it as a thing but I think the meaning has got lost somewhat..

when I was at school it was all about getting a card off a secret admirer ..

These days the surprise element has gone especially if you are married lol

To me its over-rated, if a parter really wanted to do the whole gifts, flowers (whatever they wanted) then id join in. Otherwise, i was happy to just have a meal in with a movie

In fairness I don't see the whole Valentine's Day thing, never have. I plan on spending the day in bed then an evening at the cinema with a friend

It's just another day like any other. I don't think you need a special day to show someone you love them , it should happen everyday.

Sod valentines , I'm off on a meet tomorrow

We buy each other cards but that's as far as it goes.

Real love and romance is about the little things you do every day to make your partner feel special, not about big grand gestures!

Valentines is great for my business.

Normally I refuse to do anything on valentines day itself as it's massively overrated and overpriced, but have always done something nearish to the day to celebrate.

I'll be working in Valentine's Day - any cards or kisses welcome but I doubt they'll be forthcoming at work!

I always recognise it. We only buy cards but it's nice.

We are pretty soppy anyway but reading a heartfelt card from Adam always makes me feel all loved.

Sure, we don't need valentines day to do so but we don't need Christmas to give presents either..we still do it. It's fun and it's sweet.

Just my opinion ha ha.

Gosh yes it was - all about anonymity, for secret admirers and unrequited love - it was about declaring your feelings if they were not known, not for couples!
