Bring back the old days?

Who would like to bring back the old days where there was no internet where swinging was great time because you had face to face meeting from day one getting to know people who share the same interests. The web is not real it like a book with a screen were we all seem to judge it if it good or not without face to face meets. So I say do not judge us all like a book cover because you never know if it’s good or bad which is way there lots of time waster out there to make it harder for genuine people who really want to have fun in life as life is too short so we should all enjoy it to its fullest right? AGREE OR DISAGREE

Judging books by their covers is exactly what book-covers are for. The choice of font, layout, colours; everything is considered and intentional. I (and countless others) have picked up books purely on the merits of the cover and the title. (Shout-out to The Brentford Chainstore Massacre, whose combination of title and cover got me hooked on Robert Rankin.)

To be less literal, I see what you're saying and can understand the logic behind it to some extent. But I have to say I don't see what you're proposing as a solution. Stand on your own merits, be the best you you can be and who knows what may happen.

Your right. But how many times have you read a book on recommendation. You wouldn't have read it because the cover didn't interest you.

But some told you the story line. (I can't believe I'm talking about being in s book club) and you gave it a chance. Now it's one of your favourites.

I get where the op is coming from. but I do realise on Fab, that It is all about visuals on here.

It took me a while to desperate how I interact in the reak real work to how you meet someone in here.

That actually hasn't happened before - sure people have recommended books but they tend to know what I like and the covers are ones that fall into that. If it's a cover of say a Mills and Boon book, I already know I won't like it. Regardless of how much it's raved about by another.

In a similar vein OP, regardless of how great a person may think a meet will be with them, if there's nothing to interest me or persuade me it will be so, I won't go there.
