We had a proper sleeper a few years back, found it in the back of someone's used car yard in Southampton. As a Merc fan I had to have it.

300TE 24valve. High specced with full options, but I noted it was sitting on four Amg flat front alloys & had been lowered.

Pop the bonnet to find it's a Mosselman turbo. So a 300+bhp powerplant

Bloody good fun & the last of the real built Mercs in my opinion.

I had an SD1 V8s back in the 80's. The V8s wasn't around long before being usurped by the Vitesse model

V8s prices are some of the highest around on the SD1 scene. Guess what though. It was an underpowered pile of poo

Despite having company cars for nearly twenty years the top three owned cars have been my 67 MB 280SE 3.5Coupe, BMW E30 325iSport, and wait for it...An early Rover 75 2.5V6 or diesel.

The last one because as a mile muncher with all the toys incl TV/SatNav Etc. For £1-2k It was exceptional. Anyone that poopoos 75's has never driven one. We've had three, the diesels are good too. If I could find a same spec, right colour, low miles tourer it'd be on my drive now.

Yep W124, we've had two a 230TE & the Mosselman, then two W210's a 320TE petrol & a facelift 320TE diesel. Rust buckets the pair of them. But if I could afford the fuel I'd still consider an E63 Estate.

I know the guy that owns Maldon Sea Salt & his into M3's traded his last year straight six against the CSL v8.. Took it back two weeks later got his six back, said the V8's handle shit in comparison. So he's chucked shed loads at his M3 for more power & the cars been back and forth to Germany more times than a BMW transporter & currently running at 700bhp.
