What the fuck is with women and couples putting down no one liners...what's sooooo wrong about a first short message to break the ice...I mean really what are the chances of most average looking average age guys to even get a reply anyway...so how can you expect us to write a massive essay as the first message when statistically you won't even bother reading it

but i don't ask men for anything in particular so they don't feel as let down if i don't reply. they can't think 'well i did what she wanted so why's she not replied' coz i never asked for anything.

Given the choice OP which would you honestly choose if the roles were reversed? A "Hello, how are you?" (or worse) one liner?

Or a message that shows the sender has read your profile, tailored the message accordingly and shows a genuine interest in you, as opposed to something completely random that does none of the above?

I know which I'd be more inclined to respond to.

Most will take a look at your profile before even considering reading your message anyway. If they're not impressed with what they see, they'll either delete your message without reading it, or leave it sitting there unread for all eternity.

You really need to ask yourself if your profile is the best that it can possibly be and consider whether you give the impression of somebody who is willing to put in a good deal of effort.

Since you haven't specifically asked for advice on your profile, I am not at liberty to give any.

If you browse the forums, you'll find that the subject of one liners / short messages crops up quite a lot. In fact, there is currently a similar thread running in the Swingers Chat section.

Many have given very valid reasons why they don't like such messages. Have a read through and see if you can understand why.

Either that or carry on doing what you're doing and carry on getting the same reaction as you're getting now.

yep. ..the one liner. ..especially if I'm pushed for time. The essay would put me off and I may never get round to reading it. One liners are great. ..I can read it without opening, check out the profile to see if I want to open and respond to the message in a few moments.

I am trying a new tack where messages are concerned...

I am now responding in kind so if its a one liner they get a one liner back, complete with text speak and spelling mistakes..

I don't really care how its received as I block them anyway

We are happy with short messages, as long as there is some thought behind it and it's not just "fancy a fuck" or similar we will reply.

We tend to put as much effort into the reply as the sender has done in the original message
