So i am currently trying to get the hang of make up. Gradually i am getting better at it ( well i hope i am ) but its so hard to do yet i'm never satisfied with my result. Its so bloody hard and with so much make up to choose from when shopping makes it difficult to choose from. Advice is hard from women to as everybody has different opinions on which products are best. Its my eyes that i fine the toughest. Just wondering do you ladies still struggle finding out whats best for you. I love dressing as a girl & being able to change the way i look.

My profile picture is my latest attempt , made that picture public so any feedback would be appreciated from you ladies. Im not easily offended so feel free to say what ever you are thinking.

Thanks girls

Love sally x x

Heya beautiful.

YouTube and practice are your friends.

There are some brilliant tutorials for all eye shapes. Just type in your eyeshape into the search and you'll find tutorials specifically for them x

Hi Sally

I am by no means an expert. I don't wear a lot day to day. I still haven't mastered liquid eyeliner My signature look is a bright red lipstick which is easy enough!

Have you tried YouTube for tutorials? I have a couple of favourites, Lisa Eldridge being one

Do you dress during the day? Have you braved the make up counters? I have a trans friend (m to f) and she has been thrilled with some of the help she's been given. If you're not feeling up for that how about a make up lesson? I did one with a woman a year or so ago and it really refreshed what I was doing, I found her by recommendation on a local 'gossip girls' group.

Feel free to message me if you want to chat

Just had a quick look on your pic. Good effort but from what I can see your crease could do with some more blending so it doesn't look so harsh x

i always advise people to get stuff from B&Ms or the poundshop. that way you can buy loads and experiment without having to worry about prices. like grab all the colours you'd like, glittery shit and whatever. if you don't like it pass it on or chuck it away.

watching tutorials might be a good idea too, like they said.

Think it truly is trial and error..

if i opt for a bold eye make up i tend to go natural on the lips..

id love to learn more about it

Oh I love doing make-up.

Online tutorials are great but I find having a play around is the best, get to see which look suits you and then switch up the colours.

Sally, be reassured that women like me have less clue than you do!

Just keep trying things out, keep it simple and just wipe it off with wipes.

This about pound shop make-up - I swear by Poundland's range and I have a few more expensive eye shadows & lip products.

I'm no expert - my routine is concealer, foundation, pressed powder and high lighter, eye shadow, mascara and lip gloss or Vaseline on my lips, and a nice lipstick & eye liner on an evening or special occasion - but just play around and see what suits you.

I love the smell of make-up, in general I don't use much. I prefer the natural look for myself but, I love it on other people.

Wowsers that sounds like hard work. On a good night i have foundation, eye shadow, mascara and a good lippie. I think i look pretty good when done, however i will take the advice and maybe check out some online tutorials....

A world of my own

You're doing better than me. I'm still a slap it on and hope for the best!

I do like the bare minerals powder. They also do a lash domination mascara. I have practically zero lashes without it as they are short and fair.

I've never mastered eye liner or eye shadow. I end up looking like I've been in a fight!

You tube have some great tutorials though. Patience and practice will pay off.

I've only been doing it for around six months & I still look very natural. My trick is doing my base & eyes while I wait for my toast to cook for my breakfast

Pleasuretown

I find with a makeup palette you can start with a wash of colour to building up to several shades

There are a lot of good brands on the high street.

YouTube is good for tutorials

I like Jaclyn Hill but there are lots and lots to suit everyone

I'm staying in my mums at the moment and Friday night I went out. My sister took my daughter to one of her classes so I could get ready and she said I could use her make up, oh my god!!!

I wish I could upload pictures on here to show the extent of her make up collection.

She has about 1000 brushes of different sizes that's not even an exaggeration, the contour pallets, the eyeshadow pallets, the highlighters the creams, the liners, the lipsticks the mascaras. I just didn't have a clue what to use!

What I did like and found quite easy to use was one particular pallet called light and shade by kat Von d it's like a contouring pallet and has a picture guidebook with it! I also liked her green highlighter powder by jeffree star it was called mint condition and I used this primer stuff called too faced. Absolute minefield looking at all my sisters stuff it's a ridiculous amount of make up to have.
