I have a few times contacted people with no pictures. Sometimes it is because we have had a laugh together in chat, sometimes it is because they have a good intriguing preofile, etc

One line or two lines with no info of what they like, dislike, or a rough idea of what they look for I wouldn't message. There has to be enough to make me think I would like to chat or meet with them, doesn't have to be war and peace but some info atleast

I didn't know outright but I guess that I can be a natural risk taker and also as single guys on here rarely have contact initiated I decided to take a punt. Nothing ventured etc...

She actually turned out to be real and has since got pics and meet veris. We never ended up meeting as she could only do week days and I can only do evenings and weekends.

With the ratio 10:1 it is obvious that men have to put a lot more effort. And it is very understandable they are trying their lack with empty female profiles, as they attract less guys. Pure statistic.

Yeah, I get all that...but I just don't see the appeal in messaging people with absolutely no pics. Although I know people do it, so I'm trying to see the various reasons...beyond the ratio imbalance on the site.

Yes. There's text on profiles too. There's a person behind every profile. I find that the more pics the more one dimensional and shallow the person is.

When I was here as a single, I broke pretty much every rule in the book of swinging

Sometimes it back fired, sometimes it worked out better than meets where all steps for a good meet were steadfastly followed

As part of a couple, you have to think differently and adapt accordingly cos it's not just yourself you have to consider

My profile only has 1 picture, which is about as useful as the silhouette, My profile is almost as useless as my picture,

But I still get messages, admittedly most are forum spin off but still the ocasional guy will message out of the blue, to see if I am fab straight or at least willing to meet them to find out what I am missing.

But was only tempted to meet one forumite, and she recognised me from my old couples profile.

No, never. I need photos to spark my attention, and photo-less profiles have never, in my experience, had much by way of text either. I did once take a chance on replying to someone with friends-only photos and that turned out really well, but I usually don't even bother with them.

If no pics exchanged early on in char then i would end communications. Its not that we are fussy but i wouldnt eat a meal someone else had ordered for me (without telling me what it was) with a blindfold on...

I respond to messages that spark my interest so yes I have occasionally replied to messages from guys with no avatar or public pics, it's not unusual for them to attach a couple of pics after I respond to their initial message.

I rarely instigate messaging tho.

If someone is local, with matching requirements, I sometimes hotlist them, then wait to see if their profile evolves enough to be interesting.

Many never bother, in which case, they get removed after a week or so.

If they can't manage more than 3 words and a silhouette, I imagine their meets would be equally dull.

Makes me wonder if some women assume they don't need to put any effort in? No pics, not much of a profile... meh - they'll still get messages, so what does it matter to them.

I don't think anyone suggested that having pics on a profile makes them an exhibitionist .

The point that many are making is that they wouldn't message or engage in chat with a profile that has none .

The vast majority of those looking to meet up with others would prefer to see who they are speaking to , rather than wait until it's gone on to a level whereupon a meet is organised and there's no physical attraction .

No avatar,public pics or friends only pics always raises suspicion as to why?

I understand that some people may not want to bear all in the form of a picture but will they not do this at some point when meeting?

We stay away from these profiles and never message them as they do not seem genuine.

Nope! I never send initial messages to profiles with no public pics and I usually skip profiles that don't have avatars without ever clicking on them.

If they message us then we usually reply, evem if it's to say no thanks.

The person/people may be in a career or high profile in their community, after all this is the internet. If our governments can be hacked then with certainty our little corner of the web could be.

I respect peoples right to privacy, besides and this might make a good follow on thread. How many have met someone after seeing a picture and thought it wasn't even the same person. I find pictures very unreliable and usually insist on a social meet first

Nope. If they can't be bothered to load any photos then we can't be bothered to read their profile.

Easy to make them anonymous and if they can't work out how to load them then I'm not sure we'd click with them if we met

Yes they do, and those men tend to be ones who treat the women on here as nothing more than a free prostitute, in my opinion.
