Does it actually work?

Do girls or couples look at winks and think wow he's made no effort at all so we definitely want him in our bed...

A few women use it to gauge a guys Iinterest from all accounts on the forums.... but the same few seem to respond to them.

I take the same approach as many though and feel if they're genuinely interested they can put a few sentences together to get my attention.

We look at them. Then we look at the profile and decide if we are going to wink back or send a message. So people do look at them. X

Worked for us, I, Poppy, winked Billy 3 years ago when we had single profiles on here, and here we are a very happy couple, having fallen in love.

For women probably, for men probably not. People view it as lazy, best to try message when people are online.

Slightly off topic...but can be linked....

when i fab a pic it's because i genuinely think it's a nice pic. Some fab them to get their attention like winks.

It's hit and miss really, just be sure to combine with a smile for maximum effect.

If I'm feeling especially attracted to the target I sometimes follow it with a little flick of my tongue aswell

I've had meets after people winked me, so it can work. Don't bother doing it if users state that they dislike or ignore them of course.

I'm one of those who find it hard to compose a decent first message (in the old days we called it shy lol) so I tend to wink and see if I get a response but no, in my experience it doesn't work.

I am genuinly, absoloutly bobbins at composing a first message or even starting a conversation in person with someone i have never spoke to before and i always have been. So on the rare occasion i do wink its to show interest. Its never noticed though

I hardly ever look at winks of I am honest. but then I am very selfish and look at messages, put them on the hotlist and contact when I am looking for a new meet...

Closer than you think

What works for one doesn't work for another personally I don't send winks but I do look at them as being a bloke on here I'm not particularly bombarded with them!

I always reply to winks, but I'm a single male, so not too busy.

I normally only wink, if the profile is so basic that there is nothing to write about.

If they don't put effort in, to say what sort of person or meet they want, then I'll probably just wink.

It generally works when women do it, because guys are usually grateful for any attention they can get on here.

However, whenever I've replied to a wink, that message never gets replied to, so it does seem to be a waste of time overall. If you're interested in someone just send a message!

Its worked when we've winked at others and it works when people wink at us.

I delete the winks we're not interested in and keep the ones from people we'd be interested in meeting at some point.

We just mass delete them better to get someone's attention with a message winking is just being lazy

When I had a single profile I didn't look - too many and enough messages to keep me busy.

On our couples profile we do look and we do use them unless someone says don't bother - it's a diffiersnt dynamic to a single profile.

Re first messages; I admired those who admitted they were nervous and hoping their message gets noticed, without any sex talk. Also those who said something thoughtful, intellectual and interesting, or very funny. Text speak and lazy, crude messages got deleted. I'd say most who walk up to a nice lady in a bar wouldn't say 'I'd like to smash your back doors in' or 'I'd like to eat your pussy', and 'U ok?' is very unoriginal, so why do it on here? Sex for me/us isn't just about looks it about personality and social too so if you can't hold a conversation there's no rumble in the jungle!

We ignore them. It says on our profile not to bother winking, just send a message.

And still the winks roll in....

A world of my own

I rarely look at mine. I've sent one or two though and then had a message in return.

"Women winking men works"

Aye defo, can't remember getting any response from winking, but one of the best meets I've had so far started with her winking at me.

A few messages,a phone call,n a week or so later n I was up to my nuts in her guts!

So it works for the ladies but not so much for us guys.

We regard winks as a way of 'testing the water'. We use the wink system. If we don't get a wink back we assume we are not at not what they are looking for at that moment in time. We do look at winks, but most of our winks come from profiles that don't really tell us anything. That's the disadvantage of winks - you are asking people to make a judgement purely on their profile as there is no message or attached photos to back up the wink. So I would say there is no point in winking unless you have a very informative profile,

Mrs

Seems people don't like getting winks on here. It's better than getting no attention surely and getting a message ignored that you've written to someone?

We think it does, it's a good quick way to judge whether someone likes the look of your profile. For us if we wink at you, that means we're interested, if you wink at us and we don't wink back it's like a politer way of saying no thank you.
