Pubs and restuarants would go out of business in a matter of weeks throwing many tens of thousands of leisure sector workers onto the scrapheap - some of them for life.

Hundreds of thousands of smokers would be forced to quit, lead healthier lives and live longer putting a huge strain on an already overstretched health system that would have less people paying into it because the revenue raised from smoking that partly funds the NHS would not be there.

The Sun would have fuck all to fill up half it's newpaper on a daily basis because all the obscure dieticians it employs that couldn't make it as doctors would have nothing to write about.

It'd be totally different. People would be judged on how toned they are instead of how fat they are. It would be social anathema to disclose the fact that you don't go to the gym, and there would probably be numerous newspaper articles criticising slim people who don't exercise and have a lack of muscle definition and saying how unhealthy their children will be because it's dad doesn't have a six pack and it's mum has a tiny bit of a wobbly arse in a leotard.

You got it in one.

Human's aren't given to treating each other equally and without a hidden agenda. It's just not in our psychological make up.

I'll give you an example of that very thing happening already.

Go back stage at a Miss World pageant, where every woman is beautiful but they look at each other with venom.

Actually, it is true for many offices and work environments, also... not just in the glamour world. It is down to, as you said, psychology, the need to be top dog (bitch in this case) and thus ensuring you get the best possible mate... Simplified? Of course it is. True nonetheless. It does, however, NOT happen, when people feel secure and trusting of each other....
