Mine passed as well except that this year it cost me nearly £300. The past 7 times it has cost me £40! Not bad for a 20 year old car really.

Friend took his 3 year old BMW for it's first MOT and it cost him nearly £2000 (lighting solenoid gone, catalytic converter scrap, seatbelt fail, emissions fail). The stealership wanted £180 just to take it for a 5 mile run on the motorway to tidy up the emissions
