London

I guess it all depends on what you looking for. I live in London but outside the center. I can be in central in less than 30 mins but still have a quiet neighborhood with lots of green around. The only downside is the pricy rents. But also get access to the high paying jobs of the city.

Central

People in the south live, on average, longer than people in the north - I don't know where the border is. Longer or a shorter life wanted?

Stoke is a cool place - more south than the full north. Ignore posters above who live there, they're trying to keep it exclusive
