I passed this incident this morning not realising what had happened about a 60ft drop the tunnel going into Brighton marina.

I'd rather it didn't. It's a shame the media can't treat the death as a private natter fir nothing more than the families sake. The coverage will only intrude and probably exacerbate their grief. It's only news fir those effected

Talking to the wrong person here. I'm from Bridgend, I'd been to 52 suicide funerals by the time I was 27. I don't think they should be reported, firstly because the family should be allowed to grieve in peace and secondly I worry in case other kids copy it.

Remember reading about all that in Bridgend, very bizarre and not nice at all.

Was there actually ever a "club"? I read a lot at the time about how media reports had given a false impression.

I know they often gave the impression the incidences were happening in the town of Bridgend, when actually it's a county borough and statistics were referring to the whole of that area.

People were often asked how the latest death affected "the community", to which they replied "I dunno, it's 35 miles away, it's not my community".

Not criticising, just interested.

Back on topic - sad story from Brighton. Mental well-being amongst the young is a big issue.

It wasn't a club just a bunch of stupid teenagers and the media coverage made it worse made it seem almost like it was a computer game and not as serious asig actually was. There were people in one funeral standing next to me and the week later it would be their funeral. It seemed like they wanted some sort of notoriety.

No, it wasn't a club. My shorthand term. As far as I know, very few of them were linked. I took an interest as I was once a teenager in Bridgend.
