"Wow well done. Any tips you can share?" Quit fizzy drinks and you will loose up to 9lb in a week (this can be a great confidence boost) Eat several small meals a day rather than 1 big one : metabolism speeds up, you get more energy and feel better with bonus of you do more and loose weight. Never been to slimming world as it all just seems like common sence, but have friends who swear by it, yet every few months are suddenly back starting a diet again and doing no exercise.. If you are going to pay for something pay £15 a month, join a gym, get advise on eating well rather than some on and off diet plan.. make some friends at gym and enjoy some light hearted competition. Gyms arnt all Posey muscle guys anymore, they can be great and very welcoming to any shape or size Food and excercise should be enjoyed not a chore

I think you're onto something about not being alone at the gym. That's half the battle I find

"It's all about how you look at it. Do you get upset that person A is fit as fuck, while you are working your arse off just getting into gym. Or look at person A and think hey I can try and do similar, just slower and less.. but I'll get there. I find the old days of people at gyms taking puss out of larger people to have gone now.. it's A lot more of a look of "see that fat guy doing some excercise. Good non him" Getting in and doing it is bloody hard, but if you do it can be life changing and those fellas watching you arnt taking the piss, they are likely trying to buildbthr confidence to come offer some advice. I'm a 45 year old guy who got far to lazy, got fat and my lungs got to 50% capacity due to asthma. I now love gym, eat better, do far more and can keep up with my 10 yr old kid. My cyclothymia is a lot more under control I'm far more stable (less depression) sure I still se a fat guy in the mirror, but I feel great." I certainly feel bleurgh with all the extra weight I'm carrying. I'm sure once it starts to come off I will feel better all round.

"Just like to say first week back after a long break and have lost 11lb in one week great start ya me x" Be careful you're not cutting too much too quickly Sad to say that loss will not be fat mainly water and glycogen A lifetime sustainable diet should aim for a couple of lbs per week bearing in mind as weight decreases so will the calorific requirements however your nutritive requirements stay the same How do I know it's water and not fat loss A pound of fat contains 3500 cals To lose a pound each day would mean burning that amount and eating nothing I work out and my daily cal requirement is under 2500 So although whatever you have done has caused a weight loss it is not fat loss I say this NOT as discouragement or to be unkind , rather to give you information that will help your long term goal not a quick unsustainable fix xx It seems you may have gone low carb, which works wonders for fast glycogen loss and water but can be hard to sustain Be careful xxx
