Hello all, long time no posts so I thought I'd share something that happened over the weekend that I hope will warm even the coldest of hearts this chilly January evening.

I went back to my home town for my birthday at the weekend, a town I'd spent 30 plus years growing up in, so was catching up with old friends and family.

Anyway, at the end of the evening Saturday a friend of mine and myself decided to call it a night and get some food and a taxi home, we walked to the take away shop and I bought some food and noticed a homeless person on the way so I bought them a meal as well. We then went for the taxi, the taxi dropped my mate off and then on to my stop, as I got out the cab he said I know you, now habing lived there for most of my life and not being a retiring character I assumed it was that, he said you're Bryan's son, agreeing yes I did explain he passed away 13 years ago, he knew this and told me he used to drive my dad and his wife about on nights out; he told me some lovely memories he had and how amazing my dad was, with which he got out the cab and he asked if it was ok to hug me as he missed him and I'm the spitting image of him in looks and character and he just wanted to be close with him one more time, of course this I agree with and after the hug he cups my face and tells me to take care and cherish my dads amazing character. He got in his car and drove off: I was truly touched at this strangers genuine emotion towards someone I cared for and felt so humble he was happy to share how he felt with me. Good humans exist lol

Thanks and yes I consider myself very fortunate to have had him as a dad and if I'm like him in anyway then I know I'm doing something right.
