Been trying to read the book for sometime .but haven't been able to get past the first few pages as it bored the hell out of me

So I decided to watch the film and wow I am so glad I did ...

I normally think when you read the book the film is crap but on this occasion I give the book a zilch and the film a 10 from me

I shall now get my coat and stop waffling

The book was a slow starter but ended up being a good read for me.

Didn't fancy seeing the film as they changed location, in my mind that doesn't work!

Brighton - even Hove!

I read it. It was quite simply written and doesn't noff it as a modern classic but it was a page turner and I guess if it has that, then fine. Didn't bother with the film.

I noticed the film was set in America, yet the location was exactly the focus of the book.

didnt see the film,and really disliked the book...seems to be a spate of what are described as 'psychological thrillers'..or as my mate calls them 'stupid woman' books..usually poorly written with very daft storylines that dont hold true...i read a huge amount of thrillers and now know not to buy anything that says' if you like gone girl or girl on a train' you'll love this'!...the common denominator seems to be the film rights being sold same time as the publishing rights..

Ooh, I had the opposite reaction. I was pretty hooked from the beginning but started to lose my way about half way through, managed to push through though. The stuff going on was giving me the feels a bit too much. Also the villain was telegraphed way too early, so for too long I was pulling my hair out that no one in the story could just bloody figure it out

Haven't seen the film yet but looking forward to it

I enjoyed the book, once it got going. It did take some getting into.

Haven't and won't be watching the film. They are always "based on " the book. Which seems to mean nothing like it. I've never yet seen the film of a book without being annoyed with it.

I always reading the book first I can never watch the film as I'm always nit picking ..in this instance didn't manage the book so I'm happy I watched the film ...let me know what you think to the film
